Does anyone know what happened to CorpJet flying the Caravans out of PHX? They were doing UPS Contract stuff and I heard that they were grounded and now AMF has picked up a bunch of their runs.

I worked with CorpJet out Newnan CCO, Georgia. We were delivering The new York Times and Financial Times. That was in 2000 though. And I think I talked to Chris about a year or two ago. They may still be operating out of Coweta County Airport. i will try to find out more.

Hey Menya,

I flew there too in 2000...

I was in Deer Valley AZ 2 nights ago and a ramper told me that their certificate had been revoked by the FAA 2 weeks ago. Don't know if there's any truth to this.

rumor is....and this is just rumor from what I have heard.......
First caravan was overloaded by 2000 pounds, UPS realized this and self-disclosed and there was a fed at the other end to bust the chick. Feds have wanted them shut down for a while so they just never renewed the paperwork for the company check airman and slowly shut down corpjet by having no legal pilots. Who knows really except whats left of corpjet.

I see nothing has changed. We used to joke that we were gonna get violated for not having a type rating......for the caravan!

I heard a very similar story, so there's probably some truth to this.

Didnt they also have a run from Phoenix-Deer Valley to Albuquerque? Anyone know who's doing that flight now?

CorpJet

She actually continued to fly another UPS run for about another week after the apparent overloading incident. The final straw was her returning to PHX after departing for SOW-P14 on a Saturday morning. Apparently the Caravan starting having engine trouble outside of SOW and the pilot opted to return to PHX. She supposedly called the feds herself when she got on the ground in PHX and had them ground the airplane. That was the end of CorpJet doing flights in their Caravans for UPS out of PHX. AMF picked up the run that day and has had it ever since.

I worked for Baltimore Air Transport/800 Corpjet back in the summer of 2002, did that Caravan run in 716BT, April - July, got away from that place as quick as I could, learned never to take the first flying job you find when you're furloughed, no matter how bad you want to get back into a plane, unless you know it's a good company. I never broke the FARs or flew over gross though.
