I am planning on jumpseating down to the Carribean later this month. Beside the taxes (and hurricanes), is there anything else I need to do? I thought I remembered something about having to list 24 hours in advance for offline jumpseating. I spoke to a Delta gate agent and he seamed to think that the jumpseater should just shows up to the gate. Any help??

i jumpseated on DAL from bombay to jfk a couple months ago. i just showed up at the counter. a little confusion at first, since they probably dont get many jumpseates, but in the end it worked out very well. i paid my taxes (which i still havent been charged for) and was given a business class seat at the counter. the crew was extremely nice.
