Haven't heard anything about recent newhires. Seems like they have been getting back to them pretty quickly with a decision though. Is he/she going for the 170 or 145? I know that there has become a small school, including myself, swimming in the e-145 hiring pool since the beginning of April. Sure that doesn't help you much though, but that's all I got.

There are no Scheduled E145 classes right now. There is a June 20th E170 class. I'm not sure when they're planning to run another E145 class. I'll key my ears open for you guys.

Congrads and welcome to CHQ!

Rosa called me yesterday and told me the class on the 20th was moved to the 23rd it will be for Republic Airways in the 170.

Here we go!!

I havent heard anything from rosa yet either. I interviewed on 6/7 with 5 other people. congrats to jobear, i think you were there with me on tues. hopefully, ill be able to join you soon.

How many do they plan to hire, how many deliveries are still coming??

Not to change the subject but did anyone notice that the Chautauqua online app page is NOT encrypted!

They ask for all of that personal information including your social security number to be sent over the internet without encryption.

Does anyone know of an alternate method of applying? I don't have the mins yet but would like to apply at some point in the future.

Even those of us that work there havn't heard much recently from CHQ. It's been pretty quiet lately. Just went thru recurrent, no big news or rumors. Yet.
It's been so quiet, I kinda expect something HUGE (either good or bad) to be announced in the next week or so.

The CEO stated there will be 72 170's at SA/RP by this time next year. There are 19 or 20 170's here as of now.

RP170 or anyone that works at Chautauqua what's it take to get a call? I've done the online application, faxed, and snail mailed a resume in. I’ve been doing this for the last 4 months.

jeez....chill dude...I applied in October 04 and got called for an interview in March 05. Good things come to those who wait. Update by fax every month or so, get an internal recommendation and wait.

Our HR department is getting anywhere from 250 to 400 resumes a day. It may take them a while to get through them all. I assure you it will be viewed at some point. The big thing right now is to get an internal recommendation to walk in you resume. That will get you the quickest call.

Otherwise, just hang in there

I bumped into Rosa at HQ a few weeks ago and she said they hired 80 people in April and were on pace to hire 80 in May. She also said they were slowing down the pace for a little while due to the fact that the 145 and 170 sims are running at capacity. Take it for what it is worth.

I just got a letter from Rosa this morning from my interview on 6/7. I was so nervous opening it expecting it to be the 'thanks, no thanks' letter. It turns out I was placed in the hiring pool and "would be given consideration" . So I guess thats good news right? Does anyone with chq now have any idea how long one would have to swim in the pool.Ive read about some of the 145 classes being pushed back for a while. I do have the min. times for the 170 though so if anyone has heard of a 170 class after the one scheduled for 6/23, I would love to hear about it. Thanks alot guys.

Yes, it's good news. Of course it's hard to determine that due to the immense CYA wording.

I got the same letter nearly a year ago, and spent nearly 3 months in the pool.

Congrats, and welcome aboard.

Next 145 class

is to be in August, thats what I heard at FSI yesterday. (from FSI instructor)

Is that just due to training backups or what? The wait has been long for us in the pool for the E-145. Thanks for the info.

20 in the class that started on May 18th, 16 doing SIM in STL, 4 in IAH.

Yeah, FSI (STL) is pretty packed they are running around the clock in the Sims (except 4-8am, tech time).

Believe me as bad as you want to get in, I want the same thing since you will be below me :-). BUT, as of now they say August, didn't say what date... Maybe its time to come to the shallow end for you guys....BTW how many are in the pool.

Good Luck

Thanks. I know of about 5 of us in the hiring pool right now. Could be more, that's just all I know of. A few of us were bumped out of the May 18th class just a few days before it started and told we were put back into a hiring pool for a class TBD. I will wait it out, it's just kinda stressful being in limbo here. I had heard a rumor of a July class from someone else. But it was just a rumor. Thanks for the new info though, and if you have any more feel free to pass it along!

Another thing, I'm not employed right now since I was given such short notice of being bumped out of the class and put into the pool and I had already quit my job. Will they be unhappy at training if I'm not IFR current or have the 3 landings in 90 days? Thanks again!

Don't really think IFR currency or landings will be much of a problem since many in my class hadn't flown at least a month before class and it was easily 6 weeks before we touched the sim. The May 18th class should be done with the sim by the end of the month early July, so I don't know why there would be month long gap between classes, unless everyone gets vacation for July.

I had the same concern. I had stopped instructing in July, interviewed and got placed into the pool, then worked a desk job (to make money!!) thinking the wait would only be a few weeks. Well, a few weeks turned into a few months, and by the time I got into the sim in January it had been 5 months since I had flown regurarly as a CFI. I had done some flying, but nothing special- just some very short VFR ferry flights, all in all totalling about 12 hours! I did, however, do a little PCATD time with some CFII friends, who also signed me off for a BFR each time. It helped, but I never really noticed any serious deterioration in my IFR skills.

If your like me, and go from piston aircraft w/ steam gauges to jet w/ glass cockpit, you're gonna realize that it's a whole 'nother animal anyways and regardless of your recency of experience, your probably gonna feel like a tool the first few hours. From what I gathered, so long as you have a reasonably good instrument scan and flying skills to begin with, you won't have any problems.

Good luck.

Maybe I'm a little crazy, but I looked at Flight Safety's website, and they show an opening for an "Initial Emb-145" 24 day course starting on July 11. Why wouldn't CHQ pick that up. Is there more involved than just an opening, such as instructors or what? Again, I am new to this so don't bash me, I'm just anxiously hoping for something good to happen with a class date. Thanks for any info.

You have to have company indoc also. It is usally before a systems class and 5-7 days long.

No worries about the currency, just show up ready to learn and fly something totally unlike the pistons you quit flying a few months back. You will become current again through training (landings in a level-D sim count for currency) and the checkride/PC at the end also checks off all the boxes for part 91 currency as far as BFR and IPC go. Just remember to relax and have fun,, the guys who are really stressed and never take time for themselves seem to have the most problems. Good luck..

WAHOOO!!!!! I heard from CHQ today too!!! It was Dispatch calling to tell me that our a/c was gonna be late because of a ground stop in BOS.

Hey,

Just filled out CHQ's online application yesterday. Just curious if anyone knows how long before they call. Sounds like it could be a couple of months even.

Also...their website indicates 1500 TT to be considered. I only have 1250 but I am currently employed and 121 current. Will this affect my chances of getting a call?

Hope to get there...sure would love the 145...especially based GSO or MCO.

good luck yall!
