Interviewed on the 4th. I was called one week after interview, offered Feb 6 Class.
background- 135 with about 2000TT and 1100 ME

I interviewed on the 5th, received a call on Friday the 13th... was offered the Jan. 23rd class. Background is 121.

Already submitted both of those. Love to work for AWAC. ORF is my hometown. Hopefully I will here something soon. If not I'll go back to yelling "right rudder" and "flare" for another year. How competative is 915 total and 160 multi with the guys that that were hired with lower times?

get about another 85 total and I am sure you will get a call, I think all of the guys I interviewed with had at least 1000/100. And why would you have to instruct for a whole year again?

I am interviewing next week at a flightschool that wants a one year commitment. Nice thing about this place is they also have a nice size charter department with hawker, citations, and king airs. Going to try to work into that. Also I just need to get the hours anyway so I can end the struggle.

I worked for a school with a 12 month commitment, or pay $5,000 bond. I would have to say DON'T do it. I was lucky enough to make bank while working there, but the 12 month CFI deal (after I had already worked 10 months as a CFI) was a DRAG. I had 1500 dual given before I left for an airline - I would much rather of preferred going to night freight instead. I would suggest you do that once you hit 1200...more dual given won't help you.

Signing a contract for a 135 or 121 company is a bit different than a CFI position, IMO, unless it pays $35,000+ SALARY I wouldn't do it...

Hey all, I've been looking over the gouge's for the AWAC interview, got mine on the 25th, and was just wondering if, besides the basic systems questions, do they ask about any regs, inst procedures, ATP stuff? Also, How far in depth did they want you to go in describing systems of your a/c, or is mostly just limitations and memory items?? Thanks for the help.

I would like to know do I need to fly the sim during the interview? Since I am a crj FO with a sinking airline.

The Indy guys don't/didn't have to do the sim eval. But then they all had at least 2000 hours on type, so I would think it depends how much CRJ time you have.

Back in the day (that was like 6mo ago). If you had 121 experience and/or a CRJ type you didn't have to do the sim. I have a Sabb buddy that didn't have to fly the sim.

Interviewd on Jan. 9 and got the phone call this afternoon and was offered the Feb. 6 and 20 classes...took the 6th!

Interviewed October 20th ....no call no letter. I finally called them for the bad news. Still no letter and it has been 3 months. I think most people have a better experience with Air Wisconsin but it is possible to fall throught the cracks. Or maybe it was the Post office.

Do you guys use thrust revereser right after touch down? Do you guys still fly into JFK? Can you guys still fly none rev on United (I am not talking about jumpseating)?

We crack them open and use them full only if necessary.

Not sure about JFK....maybe.

Non-rev on United only for a little bit longer but I think it runs out in Feb.

Can you guys non-rev on US airways and US airways express withou paying money? I know express jet, pinnical, and eagle you have to pay $12 for non-reving everytime. How ever, delta connections you don't have to pay, and once again, I am not talking about jumpseat privilege.

Like mentioned, we do still arm the reversers after touch down and use full reverse under certain situations per our company manuals (short or contaminated runways, etc...), or when we feel we need them.

We still do a few JFK flights for us that are still IAD based.

It's free for you and your spouse or registered guest. Parents pay a segment fee. Mine recently had to pay about $60 each for a trip to Florida. It's the fee plus taxes.

The registered guest thing is pretty nice if you're not married. I put my girlfriend on there. The only thing is that the cost of the ticket (remember it's still free) is added to your income so it can take you up a tax bracket or 2 if they fly a lot. Example: my GF went down to florida last year. It was the only trip she took. Ticket was in the neighborhood of $800. Now we don't have to pay anything. But that $800 is added to my taxable income. So if she flew a lot then it could be a problem because I would be taxed a lot more. Hope this helps and makes sense.

Good luck to all you interviewees.
