I'm there from the 13-20th and I got tickets for the whole week including the 17th.

If it holds I am suppose to be in ORF for that whole week. I will rent a car and be there around there or close to it.If I buy tickets now I will jinx it and they will send me to Kuwait instead.

I wish-by the time the Dec. bids came out and I knew I'd be off,the tix for the 17th were long gone. There are some on Ebay for $250 and up (the tix were $10).Seems some motel owners at the Outer Banks bought up a bunch of them so they could charge $200 a night for rooms that go begging for $40 this time of year, and include tickets as "free".Me,personally,I don't see why they have to require tickets for this, and only 35,000 of them at that-First Flight Memorial (the site-not the airport) is a big place ! Have fun !

12/17 is the 100th anniversary of the Wright Brother's first flight (insert caveats here...powered, controlled, etc)

They have an exact replica and plan on recreating it. Except they crashed it last week...

Do you have to get the tickets ahead of time, or can you buy them there?

First Flight

Fill the stupid in... What is first flight??
First flight is a small runway (KFFA) about 100 yards from where the original Wright Brothers flight was back in 1903. I did a touch and go there before-very skinny runway, like landing on a taxiway.

the non-exact replica pilot crashed the exact replica aircraft. So much for aaccurately replicating history.

Nomex - on.

Tickets

Dragon - I believe that all the tickets are sold. You cannot buy them anywhere now, except on eBay or possibly another ticket brokerage of some kind.

Anyone know how badly the replica was damaged? Will it be able to make the event?
