Thanks. Just have the wait email now. Can't start terminal leave till the end of the year so I'm expecting sometime in the summer for the interview.

Best of luck all.

Baja,

The info I got was from a friend who got an email last week from Derinda inviting him to interview in early April. In the email it specifically stated they were "presently only hiring into the CMH and PBI domiciles" Things are always subject to change. I know you were hoping for the LAX base. Good Luck.

You might want to double check with your buddy again. I don't know why your friend's email would be different from the one I received just a few days ago. Mine said specifically that LAX, PBI, and CMH were the only bases currently being offered as domiciles. Perhaps you got some bad gouge.

This is copied and pasted right off of his email he got from Derinda.

Please note I have attached the Domicile Preference Declaration form. You will be required to bring the completed form with you to your scheduled interview. Please be aware presently we are hiring only into the following 2 domiciles: PBI & CMH. If successful in the interview process your offer will be contingent on one of these specific domiciles of which you designated as your geographic preference on your completed application. Also you will be interviewing for anticipated hire dates in May.

Seems as if they may be telling different people different things. He also got a list of different dates, his were 4/4-4/5 4/5-4/6, 4/11-4/12 4/12-4/13

Good luck.

So has anyone gone to the interview and said NO to the offered bases? If they are hiring a few hundred more this year does this mean they are ALL going to the 2 bases? Has anyone heard if you can move bases when one opens or wait for your base to open before going to class?

Baja.

Wow, now that's interesting. I got offered almost the exact same interview dates, but my letter included LAX as a domicile possibility also.

On my original application that I mailed in during January, I also put that LAX was my choice of domicile, and that I was NOT willing to move. Buddro, you could be right.....they might be telling applicants different things based on the info on their applications. Kinda sneaky, isn't it??

Wouldn't it be nice to think that they have started to hire people based on where they live. If my mailing address is in TX it would stand to reason that I would only be interested in a DAL base. I am sure there are others out there that feel the same way about the different domiciles. For me if it came down to waiting another six months to get my first choice of the five I would wait.

And you should have that option, if that were the case. That's why there has to a system in place.
A system that is logical and fair, not a "Flavor of the Month" club....
