Wondering what people thought about Pan Am for a 73 type. Seems most people like K&S and Higher Power, but hadn't heard much about Pan Am...good bad or indifferent.

In 2005, scheduled a type w/PanAm over a 15 day set in stone vacation. They call 48 hrs prior to class start to say that the sim partner they had scheduled me with, Abdul Aziz Bin Shabbazz was having trouble with his US entry papers and I would have to reschedule at their convienience or pay an additional fee for a hired gun sim partner. I said thanks but no thanks. Called K&S. Books overnighted, 11 day condensed course passed, very pro job. I recommend calling K&S first.

Also had to go thru MasterCard to get PanAm deposit refunded.

K&S much better JuJu, IMNSHO.

75,
I'm sorry about your bad experience with them. I had an outstanding experience. I got a price that was cheaper than anyone else, paired up with a military fighter pilot and we both got through in 13 consecutive days. The instructor had actual experience flying the 73 and was sharp. They have the 737-200 advanced which has an outstanding autopilot and the same that Delta flew until recently in Miami. It is far superior to the 2 paddle old system and it has autoland which can be used in certain emergencies. Your mileage may very, but I recommend them.

Is this the place they teach you take offs only? Or am I thinking of a different flight school? If so, I apologize..
