Is t hard to fly / land? Looks like that prop is real close to the ground even when the tailwheel is on the ground. I'm guessing you perform a full stall landing whenever possible?

Heard a rumour that a well known aerobatic pilot bent a porter on landing while flying for the movie drop zone. Also heard brake failure was the cause.
Porters have been financially sucessfull at DZs for years so they can't be that hard to land.

If a porter was financially successful, why would he still be a porter?

If the porter's financial success was as a pickpocketing porter he would have no choice but to remain a porter.

Nah, to be a re-porter he would have to quit porting then start porting again. Of course one could port by day drink port by night and re-port port sometime in the early morning.

If a re-porter was continually re-porting someone should really probably report him..

So if a port could report, how much port could a reporter port without porting a port?

I hear Mel Gibson and Robert Downing Jr. have some time in them.

And...not meaning to be glib. But according to a recent report, reported by a reporter from a drop zone south of Milwaukee, "If you hit a skydiver on the port side of a porter, don't don't report the base leg, just land straight ahead."

Similar reports had been reported by the porter pilot, who's name shall remain vague for his protectection and not to be little his importance. "Any port, in a storm!" he said, as he portaged his way back to the drop zone.

Anyone have any feedback on how hard / easy they are to fly?

It's been reported by a porter who was on port, that they are one of the easiest to get flying while sitting on a conveyor going in the opposite direction at exactly the same speed ........ that's important.

I think the ease of landing is all based on what you bring in your.. report--waahh.. :)

Easy to fly. It's a big 185. Just can't see anything on the ground.

Great aircraft!! Very easy to fly, lands like a charm and awesome useful load. Excellent instrument platform and yes, you can see the ground! The shaker and pusher test switch is in a awkward position, but other than that, the panel and switches are easy to get to. Very low maintenance. Flew it SNA to CUN, great flight.
