Just read a book called "Free Fall" about the demise of Eastern Airlines. It was written by a management-type person that worked there at the time. Just wondering if anyone has read it and maybe lived through the ordeal to tell me how accurate it was. Funny, this guy made Lorenzo sound like a "not-that-bad" of a guy.

I've never read that book, but if it makes Lorenzo look okay, then it can't be very accurate.

I recommend a book called "Grounded - Frank Lorenzo and the Destruction of Eastern Airlines." It's a very accurate book with lots research put into it. There are quite a few books out there written about Eastern though.

P.S. Of course, if you want my favorite book about this and other similar subjects, you would have to read "Flying the Line, VOL II." But there will be many here that say it is heavily biased.
