So is it SOP to take off with both packs inop and do an air interrupt like the one idiot Captain did?

Looks like the passengers really enjoyed that quick tour of the Texas skies!

Captain wasnt an idiot. The FI display for that flight when they were showing it over the shoulder with the ramp tower chick showed that one pack was already on MEL (and another MEL which escapes me), the next one fails, so its air interrupt time. No way an S80 captain is going to go unpressurized all the way to PDX.

Well, what do you expect from Frank Lorenzo! He'd want the CA to continue but then would bitch about how much fuel he burned at 8,000 feet DFW to PDX!

the best part was seeing Arpeys wife and her two biggest assets.

That's AMERICAN Airlines........

Great show. I enjoyed the C-check. The AA mx guys and gals are very professional. Especially that hot blond working on the MD-80 seats. Did you see her!!! I'll give her a C-check with four stages too. Then a three hour test flight!!!

......not Aeroflot. Maybe you should just concentrate on getting "moose and squirrel"!!!

"Gas guzzling and noisy, the MD80 is the aging, and seemly indestructible jalopy of the skies."

It's amazing how fast perceptions change! It seems like only yesterday when the 727 (one more engine and pilot) was the gas guzzler and the MD-80 was the fuel mizer!

I was impressed with Arpey when he came to the AA schoolhouse one night, rolled up his sleeves, and talked with pilots for about six hours, probably to about 9:OOPM. I was further impressed after this show.

Interesting how Don "Double-Secret Bonuses" Carty refused an interview. Go Virgin America! With that idiot/tool in a position of power, I fear for any pilot working for them.

Very interesting show, and some great PR for AA. I like how they got TWU union leaders & management talking together - even if they were at times talking past each other. My favorite quote - "I want to fill this airline's pockets with money, and when our contract is up in 2008, I want to put my hand in those pickets." I notice since the show originally aired last week AMR stock is up a couple bucks...

And yes, Arpey's wife is a total MILF.

I noticed that quote too ... funny how labor wants to get paid from profits and management was more than happy to get paid if they simply drove the stock higher ... i.e., they weren't interested in limiting their pay by aligning it with AA's profitability. Labor needs to address the disparity in metrics.

Seems like he's doing a good job down there. Every American pilot I've talked to has been relatively pleased with him, at least. But, anyone could do a better job than Carty did...

Anyone know if there will be another replay? I saw it but wasn't able to record it and a buddy wants to see it.

Relative is a good word.

I'll give him good marks for doing better than that fool, Carty, but his greatest skill has been staying out of the contentious fight between labor and his worthless managers regarding their undeserved stock bonuses.

He is like a guy who brings his dogs into your house, and even though they bark excessively, hump everyones legs along with biting them, then chit and p-iss all over the place, his demeanor and personal style are so nice that you overlook him telling his dogs, "good doggies, here are your treats" as he walks out.
