Anyone Else Watch "Inside AA" Last Night on CNBC?

I did, and thought it was pretty good, for the most part. It opened up my eyes quite a bit to the complexity of all that goes on at a such a huge company (and all that can go wrong). They even showed what goes on during a C check, which was probably the best part. They even had Crandall on for a few minutes, which made my day. Any other thoughts?
 
I too thought it was pretty well done. Especially the part about Carty duping the employees while secretly paying the execs. What a scum bag.

If you missed the program, it's supposed to repeat Sunday night at 9 PM and again at midnight (Eastern time).
 
Great show. I enjoyed the C-check. The AA mx guys and gals are very professional. Especially that hot blond working on the MD-80 seats. Did you see her!!! I'll give her a C-check with four stages too. Then a three hour test flight!!!
 
No cable so I missed it. Sounds like it was a good program. I suppose I could go over to someones house and watch it on Sunday 9 eastern.

BUT, if anyone has TIVO - would you mind recording it and putting it on YouTube or some other video hosting site. I realize that many networks are trying to pull thier material off these sites but if it can be done do post the link to it here.
 
MX is a big committment at AA.. Lot's of MX talent and expertise over there. Would have been cool if they contrasted that with JetBlue's MX, they get C checks done in San Salvador! Outdoors!

Exactly!! PS United had their Airbus C checks done at the same third world facility..

Huh? They only showed the back of her head and pony tail...no face or body. Unless there was another shot I missed, that was a long way from being a "hot blonde".

Nothing wrong with making $200 on a flight. Times thousands of flights per day that AA flies, a $200 profit per flight average would make for one heII of a successful airline.

Uh, fraid not chief. In Salvador yes, outdoors, no. AEROMAN has a hanger that will hold 4 320's. Clean enough you can eat off the floor. Also we have a full time Maint supervisor and QC staff who oversees it all.

And I have never seen a UA bird there. US, AW and Arrow. Brought one back yesterday.

I saw it and I thought it was very good. It was nice to see American shown in a positive light. At least the public that watched it might be a little more understanding when something doesn't go their way at the airport. I thought the CAPA guy was pretty good. Pretty cool inflight shots from the 767 cockpit. I am sure a bunch of airliners.net junkies messed up their pants after seeing that. Then there was the one section were the captain kicked off the two families on the Portland flight for fighting...it was like I was watching airline again.
 
So is it SOP to take off with both packs inop and do an air interrupt like the one idiot Captain did?

Looks like the passengers really enjoyed that quick tour of the Texas skies!

Just goes to show you that the difference between losing millions and making millions is $1 on the fare price.
 
Didn't see it but the wife said the TWU guy was gushing over how well labor relations were going.

The program must have been done before the PUP was made public. More warm-fuzzies from AMR...TC
 
That part about Bob Crandall cutting the security guard's job was SO FUNNY. And then he fired the dog.

Said without an ounce of compassion.

That was a wonderful part of the AA story.
