Just checking to see if anyone else is heading to Atlanta for the next class. Also wanted to see if any ASA folks had any words of wisdom about prepping for and surviving training.

Thanks

It looks like you have jet experience, so you will be fine. You will need to know all of your Immediate Action Items (26 of them). They are suppose to be reducing the number of items down to just a couple in the next few weeks, but newhires are still required to learn them all. You will also need to not only memorize, but have a good working knowledge of the limitations. Learn your flows early. The IP's are not here to teach them to you, and you will find training very painful and difficult if you don't get a handle on them quickly. Ohh and the Red Roof is a dump. Welcome to ASA.

Don't listen to anything management says. No matter who they are. They are all hired for their glorious lack of sophistication, solid arrogant persona, and not, repeat NOT for their intelligence or industry excellence.

Welcome,

Training hewre is very good for a regional. Immediate action items and Limitations are a must. Indoc is not bad at all and if Brian is doing it, he makes it somewhat interesting and informative.

Then you become schedulings B**tch when it is all done!

Good luck and welcome.

The one thing I like the most in ASA is the guys & gals I fly with 98% of them are just great individuals. That in my mind makes up for a lot of the things you are gonna see later on but for Welcome aboard and enjoy it

That's one of the main reasons I chose ASA, everyone I talked to about the airline had nothing but good things to say about it and the people they work with. I know it has it's drawbacks but what job doesn't? All the regionals have their problems right now so all I can do is make the best out of the situation, bust my a$$ and have some fun at it.

I'll be there for the March 7th class. I was originally given a later class date and then called to see if I would like to come earlier. Any Indy refugees going on the 7th?

I just finished my training (finished IOE last week). The every stage of the training program is excellent. Great instructors! You will be impressed.

My only advice is don't waste any time. Study, study, study. Even during indoc, spend some time on immediate action items, limitations, and flows. It will seem like too much to absorb...but it WILL come together.

Know your flows and checklist cold - this will give you more time in the sim (which is what you want).

Most of all, enjoy every moment - time will fly by.

Good luck.
