Looking for input on "good" solutions for a BE-20 EGPW/TAWS installation. Anyone done one recently? What kind of equipment? What shop did it for you? Specifically looking for a good BE-20 TAWS solution for a 1990 B200 with mostly Collins radios in it, including a three tube EFIS-85B(-14) and a Universal UNS-1C FMS. And a good shop, preferably in Southern California.

Any info appreciated. Either PM me, or maybe, better yet, just respond here. (Others might be interested too.)

In December we installed a Honeywell/Bendix/Allied Signal KGP-860 into our 1996 BE200 with EFIS 85B and UNS-1M. Works well. Piedmont-Hawthorne KINT did it for $17,500 installed. Raytheon and Stevens quoted about $27,000 for the same install. 4.5 day down time (did other maint in conjunction with it).

We're going with the three tube Chelton Flight System sometime this year, '93 B200. We looked at different options but it was difficult finding the solution that would display terrain, traffic, and weather, and fit logically in the panel. Currently we have the usual Collins, 3 tube efis, and old KLN 900, so this should be a good upgrade.

Ours displays on the MFD along with our TCAS and map. Range is selectable from the radar controller. RDR mode has to be selected on the MFD display to view the Terrain. The only panel equipment addition is an annunciator panel mounted above the EADI which allows you select between a RDR (Radar) view or TERR view (1 switch). It also has a TERR INHibit switch to cancel the warnings if landing at an airport not in the database or landing with partial or no flaps. (And TEST switch).
