I did a search, but the info seems about a year old. Has anyone been into Beef/Tortola in 2007? Specifically, why do people disagree on what the actual runway length is? Jepps, Air Routing and ARINC all seem to have the same length. Any input would be appreciated.

actually i went to beef island about 2 months ago i think. The folks were very helpful and I think the runway is like 4100 or 4400 feet long if I remember right.

I went into there a few times in the CL30. It was at least 4000 feet long. I think there is a displaced threshold issue, and I've just read that there had been construction, making it 4,650 ft. That seems about what it was.

Also there is a terrain issue from one direction (can't remember, but it's the direction I've always landed in). That is easily avoided by angling your final a bit. It's kinda fun. (And great people on the island if you get to overnight.)

I have a photo of the field if you PM me your e-mail address, I'll send it to you.

Was just there last month. No construction when I was there. There is terrain when landing to the East, but is is not a difficult approach. It is NDB only.

Just Fax a handling request to B.V.I. Services and they will fix you right up. Very nice people! I think my fees for Landing (MGTOW 13,870), handling and Filing came to $435.00, so not too bad.

Have fun! It is a great place!
