You are correct Propjockey. The quality of life will definitely be better at any place else other than Lakes. Blackpilot is also correct. To the folks in HR, all the SIC time in the world won't mean squat.
I never worked at Lakes, but know full well how the whips are cracked across the pilots backs. Even so, my goal would be the experience that would take me to the next level as quick as possible.
And don't lose sight of the fact that no matter how good you think the quality of life is at a feeder, the QOL at the next level will seem like early retirement.
