Got an upcoming trip to belize.

Any recomendations on routing from south florida in a king air?

Probably use air routing as a handler and get the overflight permits.

Belize

Just got back from there in a Merlin 3C.
I used Universal to plan the trip from Merida, MX and back to Monterrey, MX.
The handler they used in Belize was Mr. Rudy.....He IS the MAN at that airport.
If you want his phone number, reply to this, then PM me.
If you will be there for a few days, take a C-208 ($54) to one of the islands and get a room there. The taxi ride to the water taxi is $25 and the water taxi to the islands is $10, so for just a liitle more you get on a Caravan right next to where you will park your A/C. (18 min vs 1:45, taxi/water taxi)
In Belize City, I stayed one night at the Raddison (it sucked) and one night at the Palace Casino(better, but still sucked). I went to Caye Coker(Caulker) and could have gotten a room for 90/night, but opted for a 140/night room. it was New years eve and every thing was full.
Everyone spoke English and were very friendly.
As I said Mr. Rudy Coye with Aero Dispatch is THE MAN at MZBZ. Nothing, I mean nothing, even AA and Continentall moves with out Mr. Rudy.
If your boss wants you to fly to one of the islands, it is possible, but Mr. Rudy will have to get you permission. But you must first land at MZBZ then upon departure, come back to MZBZ to begin your international trip.
Universal charged us about $1000. You might try Colt also.

Ditto the Rudy comment... If you really want to get in his good graces, take a small bag filled with minis (bourbon, whiskey and the like) ;)

Caye Caulker down in Belize is the place to go if you have some time. take the taxi boat downtown Belize city. $0.75 a beer (Belikan) at the split bar in caye Caulker!!!

Don't use a contract handler for BZE. Air Routing, Colt, and Universal just re-sell Rudy's (Aero Dispatch Services) services for a 100% markup. We fly into MZBZ every other week in a DA-50, and we generally end up paying $350-500. Call him directly at 011-501-225-2454. Mr. Coye is very capable and does not extort bribes or "special" charges, and he can manage all the necessary permits. Use your service for fuel contracts, but cut out the middleman and call Rudy direct for handling.
Just remember to arrive/depart prior to 1745 local (CT). It costs about $350 per hour to keep the airport open overtime.

Haven't been there, talked to 2 people who used to be regulars, Rudy is the guy, (BRING some girly mags for him). Someone told me to tell you, ( a kingair guy) go to Cozumel and hang a left! Have fun in Belize!
