I commute from IAH to MEM and fly on XJT over 50% of the time. I actually prefer to fly on XJT as opposed to my own airline which is a sad commentary on who I work for. Several months ago CO/XJT was prohibited by the TSA from allowing CASS approved offline pilots in the cockpit because the equipment they use cannot display the pilots photo.

Now come on, if Pinch Nickle was willing to pay for the technology then certainly CO/XJT should be able to. I would never deny a CO/XJT pilot my jumpseat in retribution but when I ask XJT pilots what the status is no one seems to know or care because it does not affect their access.

I have the option to fly my Lancair but the WX does not always cooperate. Any info. would be appreciated.

What I understand is that we at CO/XJT are definitely back up and running with CASS. The only limitation is which stations have or have not gotten the new computers. Out of IAH, you should be fine, and over the coming weeks and months all remaining stations should be back to 100% as well. Hopefully it's sooner than later because CASS is such a great option for commuters.

I think all the stations are up and running with new computers. We got a message recently that said offline pilots (CASS) are allowed up front - so welcome back!!!

I believe some stations don't have the new computers at the GATE though, which would require a non-timesaving get re-acquainted with the lovable TSA people to get to the ticket counter where the computers are that can display pictures are.
