It seems to me that Falsh Friday is either occuring somewhere else or I am not looking out the window for a flash.

101 listener, user and will be forever thankful.

So then I suppose on Friday, if you see me driving with my headlights on, you will respond in kind?

*chuckles* anything is possible...but I don't know how I'd pick you out of all the SoCal Friday evening traffic.

Does he still open his show with; "He's not a right wing whacko....or a convicted felonnnNO! He's Tome Leykis!"?

I loved the implied jabs a Slimebaugh and Liddy. Unfortunately the evil empire of radio, Clear Channel, pulled the plug for Leykis without regard for local support.

Don't worry, I'm sure there will be Govt program for liberal talkshows (I know you have NPR) that can't make it on there own.

(I know you have NPR) that can't make it on there own.

Maybe they "can't make it on their own" because they have the integrity to operate as a non-profit organization and only sell underwriting spots for operating funds and not sell out (for profit) to advertisers and their influence over content like commercial radio. The airwaves should not be monopolized by corporate interest. My friend, money is not the yardstick by which substance is measured.

Sorry pal, NPR has conservatives on it's senior staff too i.e. Cokie Roberts. You're just mad because you can't handle the fact that NPR is the most objective and in-depth major souce of broadcast news, documentaries and talk.

If you need conservative comfort, go watch the spinmeisters of the fluffy and trendy FOX News, the bully pulpit of the ruling class and Bush regime.

He does still start that way. Makes me laugh every time.

That's a shame that they yanked Leykis off the air there...everyone should get their daily dose of Tom.

Obviously never studied 101...

Tom would be disappointed this thread turned into a moronic flamewar of politics.

I'm dissappointed there aren't more 101 students here.

Obviously these folks aren't.

Take me out old-school, Tom.

KA-BOOOOOOOM!

As a card carrying member of the so-called "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy", I have to reply to Zapata's call of the NPR being the

"most objective and in-depth major souce of broadcast news, documentaries and talk"

That statement is laughable. NPR is a collection of the most anti-American, liberal losers the free world has ever known, not counting the BBC. Yes Zapata they do have a token conservative playing a marginal role, but by and large the staff is liberal. However, most people are there because their ideas are so far to the left, that even mainstream media won't touch them.

Liberals base most of their political agenda on emotional pleas that will not stand up to rational debate. This makes for poor talk radio where the host must engage their audience. It generally makes for poor politics, too. Witness the last congressional elections... that is how America responds to the far left of the Democratic party.

When are you liberals going to figure out that the MAJORITY of Americans do not like your ideas, not some lever pulling wizard behind a curtain that decides which ideas are good and which are bad. The fact of the matter is, conservative talk radio is popular because people agree with the ideas, and are tired of the other liberal-controlled media telling them what is good and what is bad for them.

So Zapata, live with it. I know it absolutely makes you apoplectic that America likes conservative talk radio, and for the most part, sees NPR for what it is.

they're doing it Hugh. they must definitely not be graduates of 101 like myseld.

Take me out with a bong hit and a thank you jesus!!

Morons

Start your own thread for ideological bull$hit! This one is 101 country. Leave us alone to talk about the issues we REAAAAALLLLLLLLY care about!

Thanks for highjacking a perfectly awesome thread.

There's a time and a place for intelligent exchanges regarding our press. This is neither. Go AWAY.

Clearly, they haven't studied under The Professor, but can one really ever graduate? I feel as though I'm a diligent student for life!

Hump 'em and dump 'em.

okay bart,

"That statement is laughable. NPR is a collection of the most anti-American, liberal losers the free world has ever known"

That's not an "emotional plea"? You call that "rational debate"? We seem to have a pot calling the kettle black. Just because one is not in lock-step with the Bush regime and are dissenting does not make one "anti-American". It is more patriotic to call out the administration's bravo sierra.

The last "election"? You call that circus an "election"? It stopped being and election when the judiciary stepped in.

Sorry pal, conservative tabloid talk radio is not the antithesis of NPR, not even in the same ballpark. Right wing talk radio consists of patsy hosts glibly pontificating convienient one-liners by which angry listeners can vent without having to think too much. As much as they would like you to believe, it does not, by a longshot, have it's finger on the political pulse of the nation.

You, bart, live with that reality.

A minor victory for morons

Oh well, it was a nice try UAV. I'll concede to the ideologues this time.

We know the truth though, don't we?

As for Swass; MEEEEEOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW!

My cajones are intact. You should know, they're bouncing off your chin right now. ;)

I deleted my post because I felt as though I took potshots and low blows to two of our Leykis fans who share opposite political beliefs than myself. I don't like it when others take potshots at me, so I deleted the response to show the same respect to you.

Political debate can bring out the worst and most aggressive qualities in people. This forum is no different, I have read some of the nastiest exchanges here, in of all places an aviation forum.

The attitudes in here ar getting a little negative, I just didn't want to add to that.
