drum roll.................................................................

I guess month to date there has been 40 some pilots quit. If it hits 70 they will not be able to staff the scheduled flights. Keep er going guys..

Buzz is that a certain CEO is doing a road show wherein the attending pilots are told that they would have had an additional 20 CRJ 900's for Delta, but their vote of no confidence tanked it.

Bad pilots!

(no mention is made or questions asked as to whether the no confidence vote was either merited or what could be done to avoid another vote like this in the future. Guess the pilots should just learn to pucker up and smooch a$$ no matter how many boards they have to take to work.)

Remember: All good things at Mesa are the result of management, all bad things are the fault of pesky labor.

24 hrs from now I'm betting 4 pages of replies, with 5% being relevant, and 95% being well-deserved mesa bashing posts.

what makes mesa so bad? im not defending them, im just curious as to why pilots dislike them.

Call us in about 340 more hours. You'll be in.

In all seriousness, I don't know I don't work there. But, somebody should make a powerpoint for it.

Another thing:

Apparently one of the reasons the flight attendants are being told that they can't have any improvements in their contract that aren't "cost neutral" is that "Go" is losing money.

Ah, that's a "shocker".

You said "Shocker" !! COOL

Not for long as comair will take that honor with their new and improved contract thus dragging down the industry more than Mesa.

Mesa has a CEO that is not well liked throughout the industry and for some reason instead of all pilots banding together for the greater good most pilots take their furstrations out on the mesa pilots for some immature reason.

Most regionals suck and most are having a hard time finding pilots. Some just suck more than others.

The fact is most mesa pilots are trying very hard to make it a better place ie. Vote of no confidence yet none of the pilots are supported for that they are just glared because people are not well informed as to what is happening over there.

I'm not trying to make myself "feel good" about mesa. What I stated are facts and you exemplify what I said by your post.

Is that Right????
I remember a few years back I was in CLT and a mesa crew came up to the cockpit requesting the jumpseat during boarding. After about a minute of bitching on their part, one of them slipped and said that they were being repositioned to IAD and that they were asked to try and jumpseat on us. Mesa didn't want to bump any of their paying passengers from their own flight to IAD. We told them that what they were doing is a violation of jumpseat policy and they would have to get off.

Your guys should have known this and told dicscratch to go pound sand!!!

This was posted on mainline webboards a while ago - Mesa is abusing JS privileges for the Go! operation.

Here is an excerpt..............

"On xxxxxxx as I went to the gate before my OGG departure I was approached by a Mesa captain in uniform. He said he needed to get to Maui to TDY for the Go! operation for a week but Mesa would not get him a full fare ticket. He said they (the chief pilot) told him to nonrev or jumpseat out there. I told him he could not jumpseat to cover a Go! trip and we were weight restricted anyway, with at least one other AWA pilot trying to go as well. The guy was cool with it, he was not happy about the situation either and I got to thinking how often this had been done in the past. Mesa should be paying full fare for tickets to position crews for non AWA operations.

I submitted event reports to the company and to the J/S committee. We will see if anything comes of this."

Back to Mesa news/rumors . . .

The article below suggests that Mesa might be the "secret buyer" of 15 firm, and 15 options for the CRJ 1000.

Why secret? No doubt our CEO wants to hold this as a carrot for our pilot contract talks coming later this year. (if this is in fact an accurate rumor).

Personally, I don't see this giving him any leverage . . . senior captains already make enough not to care about an marginal pay increase. The rest of the pilot group dosen't give a s!t.

And make no mistake . . marginal pay increase it will be . . . NO WAY would our CEO pay BOTH f/o's and CA's what they deserve for this larger equipment.

I also have no idea who we'd fly them for. Scope limits all growth in this size range, and our independent op in Hawaii is to date a financial failure. (hat tip to you Hawaiian/Aloha pilots)

They might have told you that for a reason . . . i.e., to get denied a jumpseat. Gutless of them, sure, to leave the hard decision to you, but at least it's a step in the right direction.

Hell, if I ever got in a pissing match with a chief over this, I might do the same thing.

"Hi captain, my chief demands that you give me a jumpseat on your airline in order to get to work. He won't provide me a paid for seat. Care to help me out with that? Jumpseat denied? Well that's just the answer I was hoping for!"

Many apologies to you...for a minute I though your post was suggesting that all or most MESA pilots did this on a regular basis.....my bad...yeh right.
