Cannondale F1000.
I remember the first time I used clipless pedals, I did a wheelie and ended up flat on my back with the bike straight up in the air. Yeah it was funny, but stupid. After that I learned how to get out of the pedals quick.

LOL - I have you beat. Years ago when I was getting used to mine, I was riding home from the trails and pulled up to a stop sign next to another group of riders. You can guess what happened - I came to a stop, and by the time I realized that I needed to unclip, I went crashing to the pavement. The other riders came over and helped me up, but boy was I embarassed! I remember hearing one of the riders make the comment, "Way to go, Lance."

:p

6 year old Specialized Rock Hopper.

Question: Sometimes when peddeling hard it jumps down unexpectedly into a lower gear, which sends me lurching foreward. What would cause something like that, and how to fix? Thank you.

Northern, check your cables. A slight adjusment (usually just a small allen wrench) will probably rectify your shift problem. Also, I had a mongoose until a week ago, when it was stolen.

like to ride too! problem is DFW is either too hot, too wet and no trails ( except ones where you run into a million other people, like lake grapevine)

Roadmaster "Chromium Edition" that I won by putting my name in a box at PetSmart. I think the night stock clerk assembled it.

I admit it, I'm cheap!!!

Specialized S-Works Epic '03
Trek 8000
Trek 5500

I also work as a mechanic in a shop while bidding reserve. Gotta love having 2 jobs just to buy Ramen.

Mountain biking seems like to much work, at least going up hills.

A couple of years ago I went to visit my son, who lived in Bethel Maine, and worked summers and winters at Sunday River. He wanted me to go mountain biking with him, and I thought it would be lots of work, and said so. He told me it was easy, we ride the chair lift to the top, and then just ride down.

Clue #1. We got to the top and he said he really appreciated my coming with him, because his wife wouldn't. I asked why, and he responded that she was afraid she would get killed.

Clue #2. He suggested we take one little section (abt 1/2 mile) without using our brakes. I didn't, he did. Stopping from 50MPH in a small area (there were water (snowmaking) pipes on 3 sides) while going down hill is a real challenge.

Clue #3. When we got to the bottom, he told me I was a lot braver than he was. He would never have done the things I did. Stupidity and dumb luck got me through.

so, based on the clues I gathered, I'm never going mountain biking again.
