Anyone have any creative uses for old Jepp/NACO plates or enroute charts?

I've got a bunch just collecting dust right now and wondering if anyone has done anything neat with 'em?

- Made a centerpiece?

- How about a beautiful table lamp?

Seriously...any ideas?

I also use them for wrapping paper/stuffing. Have also used them to wrap and immobilize ornaments.

They do start fires pretty readily.

"Oh crap, no TP! There goes High 7/8!"

Old Charts?! The ones I bought as a student pilot still work great. Every now and then I find a mistake and correct it with some white out.

FYI- KTEB now has a control tower. Found that out the hard way last week.

You're not serious, are you? If TEB has a tower.....well...that would explain many of my problems with the feds when flying in there. ;)

Jepp low altitude and high altitude enroutes...mostly wrapping paper when I can afford to give gifts. I've been in a few dives that saw the charts used for wall paper...it looked better than what was there.

Last place, I used a set of charts to make curtains. Martha would have been proud...

Mini, why not just go straight to the source. I'd box up a whole bunch of expired charts and mail them to Martha herself. Her new address is part of the public record so you can be sure that she will get them, and I doubt she has much to do with all of her new found free time. Just a thought...........

Martha Stewart's tip: NOS enroute charts work better for wrapping presents than Jepp charts, since the paper is thicker. Jepp paper is transparent!

What could I make out of this?
Oh, I could make a hat...
...or a broach...
...or a teradactyl....

Martha's pilots are on a four month vacation right now. I understand that Jepp approach plates can be used as toilet paper, napkins, handkerchiefs, etc. and the enroute charts - assuming you're proficient in origami - can be turned into festive holiday decorations such as wreaths, table settings, place mats, etc.

What do I do with my old plates and enroute charts? Straight to the garbage can. Why would you want to accumulate piles of expired charts?
