Just wondering what the hiring process is at Wal-Mart. Any info would be much appreciated.
Use the search function - you will find a lot of recent information. Good luck.

You have to speak Spanish.

And have an utter disregard for any semblence of customer service skills.

Oh yeah, you have to agree to work extra hours for no overtime pay.

You are a regional pilot right...?...?...

Regional pilots are, for the most part, a slave work force. In fact, you could probably match regional pilot pay by working as a cashier at Wal-Mart. If I were you, I'd bow out of this thread and go back to the "Regionals" board where you can all further discuss which one of you "lowers the bar" more.

They seem to be hiring quite often (based on the number of hiring threads on here). Are they expanding or do they have a lot of turn-over?

I guess you have no concept of sarcasm. I'd explain the humor behind my post but I have a feeling you wouldn't understand it (hint: it was a reference to WalMart's typical non-pilot, non-union, exploited workforce.)

As far as working for a regional goes -- I guess I should withdraw my Airbus bid.

does that airbus bid come with airbus pay or regional pay???

I wish you AND your airline all the luck in the world. However, I think your arrogance about the Airbus is putting the cart in front of the horse just a bit. I don't even think Indy Air starts service in the thing until November. In today's airline environment, that's an eternity. Especially for a start-up... Geez, the airline hasn't made a dime on the Airbus yet and you're acting like you work for the next coming of Southwest Airlines. Give me just a small break. ;) That "bid" you're so proud of isn't worthy of wiping your butt with until it gets awarded, you get trained, start drawing a paycheck on it, AND the airline survives long enough for that check to clear the bank.

LCC pay. In line with Frontier and Spirit.

Arrogance? Let's do some cutting and pasting...

I think you were the one that started hijacking the thread here and bashing companies... Anyway, I think your comment about the 'bus says it all...

OK. I'm punching out of this thread.

Good luck to everyone. No hard feelings. Peace!

Interviewing?

Does this thread mean they're gearing up to start interviewing again???

If so, i'd like to update my resume with them. Should I send it to the same address that I sent the original or, if not, who would you recommend that I send it to?

Any other tips for getting the call?

I took the wife to XNA on a trip and she is in love with the area! (thats a big plus in my book!)

Any help would be appreciated.

Potential for future hiring?

Any idea on how often they are having interviews and how many pilots they are looking for? I love that part of the country, have heard good things about the flight department, and have a spouse that is ready to relocate. Any information is much appreciated!

I believe they are going to hire 3 pilots. The contact person you need to send the resume to is Eric Low. I know they are gearing up for hiring, but I don't know exactly when...maybe November interviews.

returning to topic...

Just realized that the poor guy who started the thread never really got his question answered.

Philobedeaux said, "Just wondering what the hiring process is at Wal-Mart"

I could be wrong but I think he was asking how the interview selection process works, what is involved with the interview?, what kinds of questions are asked?, is there any specific way that someone should prepare?, is there a sim ride? and, if so, is there any place that someone can go for a sim-prep?

All questions that popped into my head after re-reading his question.

Thanks (hope this helps Philo).

wal-mart

With so many rumors about Wal-Mart, it is best to apply and decide whether it is for you, if you get called in for an interview. The process(usually) started with a brief phone call with brief questions concerning your past. They explain the compensation package and relocation requirements. The compensation package includes more than just base pay. After this phone call, they will conduct a phone interview that lasts about an hour. If successful they will invite you to NW AR for a 2 day interview, get to know you session. If successful then, they will fly you to ICT for a sim eval in a LR-35(the next day). The unsuccessful applicants will be asked to re-apply. After that, they will call about a week later with either good or bad news. The interview process is very informative for wal-mart and the applicants. After that process you WILL know for sure whether you want to work there. First class company, with first class pilots. If you are lucky enough to get an interview, go and decide while you are there. You will be living the life of a wal-mart pilot for a few days, and the decision is easy after the process. Good Luck.
