Any Hotels give points/perks anymore?

I used to be a flight attendant and took a leave of abcence from my airline to flight instruct, and now that I am back in the airline world I am wondering why hotels are not giving airline crews hotel points anymore? I slap down my membership card and time and again I am being told that hotels dont give airline crewmwmbers any rewards anymore. When did this all happen?
I remember we used to get the points all the time.
Does anyone know of any hotel chains where they do still give us points?
That was one of the only perks to being employed by an airline. Well, that and the flight bennies, which will probably be taken away soon too.

Not to many any more. Some Hilton, Some Radison and some Holiday Inns but it depends on the kind of contract your company has with the hotel. The hotels are telling me that if you are getting a reduced rate or airline rate ,they dont have to give you points. I know, it sucks!!!
 
get a receipt

If they don't give you credit, have them submit the number regardless. You can still get credit if you buy food at the hotel and sometimes they forget to erase the credit when you check out.

Also get the receipt when you check out and fax it the corp. HQ. Tell them you forgot to give the hotel your member number and they will sometimes credit you.

It is a lot of effort for very little reward. Enjoy your stay near the ice machine and the elevator!
 
A little side note, found out the hard way tonight the Hilton family/chain drops ALL your points you've accumulated if you don't stay with them for a calendar year.
 
The Amerisuites family of hotels still gives crew members points. Get a Prime Rewards card and you can accrue points at Amerisuites, Wellesley, and Prime Resorts. I've got a couple of free nights saved up and will hit the jackpot after spending six weeks at the Scotsdale Amerisuites for 757 training this summer.

I think somebody in management at my airline is taking some very nice and cheap vacations with all the points the crews are accumulating. At least sometimes we can talk the desk into a free drink coupon...
 
We have the same problem.. only a handful give you points these days.. Mostly Hamptons and Clarions an occassional Holiday Inn.

I follow what others have suggested.. Get a receipt, send it in to chain's points office and get credit for the stay...

I have found that the longer I wait to submit a descrepency the better the chances of netting points. I find 6-8 weeks works the best... It does suck having to keep track of everything, but when you get points in the end it is worth the headache.

On a side note.. years back my former airline was taking "our" points and using them to get crews free rooms. If you gave you card number you took a chance of corporate finding out and demanding your points..

My current employer sent a note to us stating that "if" we got points it could be construed as stealing from the company as it is "their" points..

dondk, that's an interesting argument. On one hand, I almost have to agree with the company. After all, who is paying for the room? But on the other hand, some might construe a free hotel room as a "benefit" of being employed, and being entitled to all the benefits of said hotel room, much like health insurance. Personally, I'm usually happy with a free beer coupon and a McPaper slid under my door in the morning.
