I think that Delta pretty much gave up on operating Ship 41. We were told that we could scavenge engine parts by one of the guys that worked on it (or something like that).

In any case, the impression that I got was that for liability reasons/insurance/training they weren't flying that thing any longer.
 
I am flying 8704, wonder why no picture? 8704 is a very late production C-47, still in orginal C-47 configuration.

Someone on another forum suggested it might be N130Q the only DC-3 on floats....now that would indeed be special.
 
Maybe one of the military special ops aircraft in the USAF?
you mean the ones built right there at OSH, painted black, for black ops?
