I don't have an interview yet ( presumptuous) but hope to have one soon. any gouge to help me prepare, questions from interview etc.

Be prepared to give a complete approach brief. Other than that be your self. They are real laid back folks. Very freindly. They will ask you how you feel about the 17 day schedual also so have your response ready for that question. They need to know if you realy wan't to fly that kind of line before they invest alot of money into your training. There is a posibility you may get back to back runs when you are new because of your low senoirity and they will also ask you about that.(34 days on) The sim ride is real strait forward. Just your basic I.F.R. profile stuff. They don't pull any unannounced engine failures like at Polar! The weather will be at 300 ovc. So if you can fly an ILS in the equipment your in know you should have no nroblem in the 747. They will help with flaps so you just have to drive thats it! You will not be graded below 300 AGL. so don't sweat the landing. If you want more insight you can pm me anytime.

Engine falls off plane during flight:
Aviation officials in the United States are searching for an engine that fell off a Boeing 747 cargo plane in mid-flight, possibly over Lake Michigan in the Great Lakes region.
The Kalitta Air jet was en route from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport to New York's John F Kennedy International Airport when the pilot radioed air traffic controllers to alert them to mechanical problems on Wednesday.
Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration say controllers instructed the pilot to make an emergency landing in Detroit, Michigan.
It was only at that point that officials realised the jet had not suffered engine failure but that one of its four engines had physically disappeared, an FAA spokeswoman said.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA are collaborating to find the engine, which officials suspect may have ditched in the drink.
Lake Michigan, about 190 kilometres wide and 280 metres deep at its deepest point, is the second-largest Great Lake. It separates Michigan from Illinois.

We loose engines all the time This one just happened to get away. One thing for sure..it keeps us on our toes. Just like going to the sim... every flight.
