Anyone have any good news?

Any furloughees get a great job lately?

Anyone's spouse get a great new job?

Anyone gotten hired by a Major recently?

Anyone get laid last night?

Here's some good news....while I tread water in two pools, I am confident that I am not losing a single line number to anyone else.
Here's some more good news...I'm getting to spend a heck of a lot of time with my wife and kids lately.
And one more bit of good news...if I can work things out just right, I will soon be busier than I ever have been, doing my best to make sure nobody screws with this country like they just did, ever again.

Race Pilot -

Congratulations. What Major Airline did you get hired by? (and what's your definition of Major?)

pb4ufly,

Thanks! I was hired by ATA (American Trans Air). My definition of a major is the same as that of the Department of Transportation, one that has over a billion dollars in revenue. I think that's the only definition that is out there. And they are the only major that I know of that is currently placing pilots into the cockpit. I also passed the interview at Jet Blue, which is not a major but well on its way to being one. I won't know the results of Phase 2 (background checks and phone interviews with referrals) for several weeks yet but I'll probably stay at ATA anyway.

actually...

And they are the only major that I know of that is currently placing pilots into the cockpit.
Alaska has started a new class a month since May (with the exception of June) and have filled classes through February.

Good point. I had forgotten about Alaska as they are fairly removed from places I normally fly. They are a great airline and a good find for anyone who is lucky enough to get hired there.

Good news?

Good news? Well, as a matter of fact, yes. I haven't received a PRIORITY TRIP ASSIGNMENT for the last 10 months. And better yet, I haven't heard my pager go off since last November.

Sometimes it's what we don't hear instead of what we do hear that makes life a little more exciting. Except, of course, a call for a class date.

As far as question #5 goes, I'm pretty sure now that it had nothing to do with the pilot uniform. I'm fairly certain that it has everything to do with running a vacuum cleaner and folding laundry (I've just discovered this in the last few months - just another one of the few benefits of being furloughed). Gotta run, there's a few more towels to fold!
