Any EMB Legacy Operators Out There?

Anyone have any leads on who has or is getting the Legacy from Embraer? Just curious as to how popular this jet is or will be.

EJM operates several for Intel.
Pfizer operates two.
Indigo did and is now out of business.
Conoco owns one.
Swift Air has several.
Flight Options has orderd them for fractional ownership.

No, you did not miss any as far as I know. I used to work for Indigo. Same old story of a good idea gone bad by poor managment. Water under the bridge now.

Intel has some EMB's, do not know if they are the Legacy, but they run a shuttle between San Jose - Mathers, Ca. and other places.

Intel's are actually ERJ 135's, not the legacy's... Unless something's changed over the last few months...

I believe you are correct. Intel's are 135's. However the Legacy Shuttle is really just a 135 with a different interior. So Intel's are Legacy's before they were officially called the Legacy.

The Legacy Executive is the aircraft with the Winglet's, A1E engines, bigger fuel tanks, etc.

Just to confirm Intels are 135's, I watch them fly out mon-fri from Hillsboro, OR down to San Jose. Their terminal is right next door to the flight school I attend.......it was confirmed they are 135's.

Intel's are 135s flown by ExecJet Mgmt pilots . . . standard 37 seat config. The Legacy is a slightly different a/c. Four center fuel tanks and winglets are the highlights. 12-15 pax.

Actually I think TOGA might have a pretty good idea about the differences... When's the last time you were in a Legacy? It was about 30 minutes ago for me...

The Legacy and Legacy Exec are very similar to each other. However, they are a lot different than the straight 135 (the same as CoEx, Conoco, and EJM -- Intel) are flying. The fuel system is totally different, there are winglets, different interiors, and different numbers of doors/exits (there is a full galley in the Legacy and no service door, for example). So, as you suggest, I am reading the above posts and pointing out that they are not correct...

Just for reference, Options has a few of the original Legacies (A1/P, wipers, 13 pax config), Swift has a couple of the new Legacies (no wipers, A1/E) both here in the US and in Kuwait, and a company in Scottsdale has at least one Legacy. All the other ones flying around are straight E135s.

The reason I say this is because, I found out (unless the information I received is completly wrong) is that CHQ purchased 4 "Legacy's" that were slated to go to Indigo. When Indigo went out of business. Embraer ripped out the shuttle interior and put in the 37 seat configuration, re-painted them, etc.
Voila, 135.

Unless I missed something and Indigo was flying 135's instead of Legacy's in the first place.

So please feel free to correct me if I am wrong but the 135SL and 135LR are more or less identical. The 135BJ is a bit different(winglets, engines, blah, blah blah). I know someone won't be able to resist. It's like moths to flame (bait).

I think all CHQ birds are "pure" airplanes, i.e. 135/140/145 and NO Legacy. Two or three are Greek 145MP models (European ER) all the rest are LR models. Any 135s are doubtless 135LR models.

Actually 2 Greek LU (European version of LR), 1 Greek MP and 3 Austrian MP's. The MP is a sub type of LR, the EU is actually the European version of the ER.

You make my point that the Legacy SHUTTLE,( not EXECUTIVE), and the 135 LR are indeed the same aircraft. The differences are all in the marketing department.

Oh, and nothing is pure in aviation.

Actually, no they are not the same. Go to Embraer's home page, click on the Legacy link (1/2 way down, right side). Then click on the picture of the Shuttle. Then click on the other pictures or layouts of it, specifically the galley. Then go look in the photo gallery. You'll see a photo of aircraft right. Note there is no service door in the front right side. The straight 135 has a galley in the front right with a service door on that side. The Legacys don't have that door, and the galley is a little longer. But, other than that, they look the same to me, too...

Indigo operated the EMB-135LR with A1-3 Engines and a 16 seat configuration interior with the "flat" floors that were easliy convertable back to the comuter version of 37 seats....just FYI

Does anyone have any operational experience with the Embraer Legacy Executive? I don't care about the EMB-135/145, just the Legacy. We have a client interested in one and I'm looking for any inside info. PM me.

When I did some contract work for Pfizer a couple of years back they were flying the two 135's and I think they picked up a couple more corporate jets when they acquired Pharmacia.. I wanna say Challengers but I'm not sure about that. Pfizer operats their ERJ's as shuttles though, not corporate planes. They have standard passenger seating and they fly loops between Kalamazoo, Morristown, and St. Louis, for employees commuting between offices. They have a couple other jets that they fly as corporate planes for execs. Pretty sure it is a completely internal flight department, but not sure who the contact would be.
