Any Calling Cards that work from Kuwait?

Anyone have any recommendations for international calling cards that work from Kuwait and other ME countries? Most of the ones I see do not have access numbers for Kuwait!

If you have a computer you can use skype. It will work anywhere there is broadband connection. You could even do vidie conferencing if you have a web cam

I never found a calling card to call from Kuwait to the US. Skype did work - this was calling from a hotel btw.

I used Skype all the time in Kuwait with no problems. The new Skype has the Video calling included. I use a clip on webcam and also have one at the house. The kids love it! When you use Skype computer-computer, it is free.

Skype is THE way to go! Plus, where ever you can get online, its likely to be COOL!

No AT&T Card in Middle East

Most of the Middle Eastern countries control the telephone and wireless systems within their borders (I have been to all of them). You are required to buy a card from the country telephone company or a local vendor. The cards are not expensive but some, like in Dubai, are only sold in small amounts of time, so you have to talk fast! Surprisingly, the quality of the calls has been excellent. Of course, you don't know who is liostening while you are chatting.

I'm thinking Skype is only as good as the microphone you use, and of course the quality of the connection (wireless seems to be hit and miss).

Has anyone noticed a difference after switching microphones?

I think you are right. When I first got Skype, it was bad, but when I changed the microphone and actually I went to a camera with the mic integrated, it was great. Then I got a laptop with the whole thing integrated. Works great!

I can say however that I do have a friend who is flying in remote Africa and it depends on teh time of day whether we are able to get a quality chat.

I used a headset/boom and it worked good. Now I use a clip-on web cam with a built in mic. Works great! You definately need a good high speed connection.

My headset cost me $8HK. Thats right $1 .08 USD and it works fantastic!
