ACL:

We are trying, believe me....

Just wondering if Delta is planning on euthanasia. Rumors are they might buy us back. Not sure what to believe.

Good luck with your exit strategy. Heard anything yet?

Sad thing is that could be a conservative figure- some companies have been in mediation in excess of 6 years........

Watch this- it will drag out to a point that the company will argue the nullification of the 92% strike vote due to attrition and retirements. Thus requesting a new vote......Truth is- with "Dubya" in office, no strike.

So did Bush take a vacation when Polar went on strike? No more excuses, from the union or the company.

p.s. burn this place down.

:angryfireACL, just write a RIF that states the gate agents changed the times from WHAT YOU CALLED!! I was told that it is one way the company can't hide it and the FEDS would possibly get involved!

GO Around, I would not doubt that! I would love to see 3-400 call in sick WITH doctor's notes.

I did write a RIF and I called Flt control. I got it taken care of. I just find it funny.
I have also heard that they might buy us back, but who the heck knows.
All I know is that they hate this place.

Sunday was an absolute cluster. I was laughing my @ss off. Gate came down and asked if we were ready to board. No FO. The did not notify him when he got off his trip. 2 hrs late. Second turn same crap. CNX another flight and took their F/O, 1 hr late. It was great. Scheduling was going absolutely nuts. They truly did not know which way was up. It sucked I missed the first quarter of the game, but it was worth the laughs. PAX were not too happy, but that is what it takes.
65 CAPT'S called in sick and they CNXed 42 flights on the last bank. Just beautiful.

dont get so excited CL65 - there were about 90 cancels for all of sunday and 30 or so were crew, 30 mx and the rest other stuff.

every company in the country let alone airlines suffers from sick calls and no shows on superbowl sunday, its not organized labor strife its people not wanting to miss what is effectively a holiday. thats why some lawmakers want to make it a national holiday to offset the lost productivity.

i dont understand also why some people get so excited about the gate calling times - the can is the official record - doesnt matter what the gate calls it - it eventually gets changed to what the can says.

I think that changed when the gate started calling the times. I do not recall, but I think our times in the can are for payroll only.

I know the whole super bowl thing 7.7 million Americans called in sick on Monday etc...
I was just making an observation on how funny it was to watch it fall apart due to a lack of any forethought on crew planning's part.

the can times are for pay and the official dot record - the company tried to split the two but couldnt - thats from SH and CT.

SH also said that using the can times actually improved the DOT stats - somehow. all moot anyway with acars - the 700s with acars actually track OOOI times contractually, like we do in the can - i just tell my fo's to double check them and use the acars numbers which so far have always been good.

Pax Door, Beacon, AND parking brake
The last one I noted when we were watching and it does not show out until the parking brake is cycled

1) Clinton Blocked AMR
2) FedEx signed their contract under Bush
3) Polar struck under Bush.

Not to mention the fact that we show up smaller than a flock of geese on the radar. I don't think Bush really cares.

still no update...they have to be done by now...

It seems like when the CNC takes a while for an update, it's usually because they are busy writing about all the crap management pulled once again. From yesterday's update, I don't seem much happening. It's time for the mediator to release us.

After the big screw up on Sunday, my schedule got so screwed up. Scheduling told me to go back to the hotel and duty in at 5:15AM. This was around 8:30PM. I said ok. Well that was reduced rest. Lucky me since I had a 13 hour day scheduled. When they tried to extend me the following day, I said I'm on reduced rest. I got the 5th degree and was asked the specifics of my last talk with scheduling. I explained the whole situation, and apparently they pulled the tapes and figured I was in the right the whole time. So I gladly went home early. All this after the scheduler told me I will be on reduced rest the night before. Idoits.

I'm going in to ATL for an interview on Thursday. Any pointers? I know this sounds like a real upbeat pilot group, just don't burn down the company before I get a job!

Pete, I think the secret password for entry right now is:

"I'll show up for class"

Why in the hell would you want to work at ASA? This place is terrible.

Update arrived late last night. Company's proposal still puts us dead last in the industry for pay rates.

Not true WWEfan. The company proposal on the 70 is industry leading based on the comparisons that ALPA is using. The 700 FO rates the company is proposing are signficantly higher than the industry - not even close in most cases. In fact our current 700 rates are near the top of the industry which is part of the problem.

Nothing in the proposal "puts us dead last in the industry". Could you site an example of the company proposal "putting us dead last in the industry"?

These are important decisions and inaccurate information doesn't help. Look at the ALPA comparison chart:

Granted Joey the 700 rate is at or near the top, but the 200 and ATR are not. They are 8-20 % behind the other carriers shown. And no offer of retro or 401K enhancements.

Release Us Mr Mediator Man!
STRIKE ASA!

Again RJMan, not entirely true. Our current ATR rates are far higher than anyone - which is Eagle. On the 50 seat captain rates, you are correct that they are 8-20% behind the comparison carriers. On the flip side, ALPA's 700 FO proposed rates are as high as 22% higher than CHQ.

If we cherry pick the best of every contract, we will never get this done.

On the 401k enhancements, the company has proposed enhancements, just not as much as we are asking for.

Are you privy to what we're asking for, and what the company is offering as far as 401K? Do tell then.

STRIKE ASA!

We are all "privy" to it now. ALPA is doing a great job now of putting it out there for all of us to see. Here is the link that will answer you question:

http://asanegotiations.alpa.org/progress2.html

The company has improved the match for pilots at year 10 and increased the company contribution schedule to monthly rather than yearly. Again I understand it doesn't match what we are asking for, but it is an improvement from current book.

Cherry picking goes both ways and it is going both ways!! Unfortunately that is how negotiations are run.....on both sides of the fence. It is also the way you and contract 98 did things!
