I went there for my upgrade program.

Be ready to do most everything on your own. I spent far more time trying to track down an instructor to ask a question than they spent teaching it in the first place. I am not complaining about the instructors. For the most part, the instructors I had were excellent. They were just overworked. If an instructor logged less than 100 hours a month, then they had taken a vacation at some point.
The equipement was OK. When I was there, they were having regular visits by the FSDO to the maintenance dept. Dunno the story behind it, but I didn't ask either.

As far as a social life, well, I had a blast in OKC. During the summer go and catch a Redhawks game downtown. Pretty good AAA baseball and the stadium is great. If you want the hot blonds, then go to any cowboy bar and don't wear a cowboy hat or boots. They will come running. I had a bud during school that always had a different girl using this method. A word of warning....He also had a couple of black eyes too. Your choice....

If they get any indication that you are "flexible" and that you are not binded for time then you may not get the I/II course done as quickly as others. Make it known to them that you are binded for time and get on them and they will get you in and out of there quickly, money in the bank. I didn't have any problem nor did anyone else in my class... Stay on the ball, pester them, etc, do whatever it takes not to have to stay out there longer than you have to and all will be fine. Sometimes unfortunately you have to be a pain in the @ss.

I'm slowly learning that being a PITA is probably the only way to get anything done at this place. Which is a little ironic, since I have a side job at the Pita Pit in Norman....

I just moved out to Norman, OK with the ultimate goal of attending the Airman Flight School up at Westheimer Field. Right now I'm just settling in and working on getting finances, etc. in order, so I'm not starting right away, but I just would like to hear from people who are currently up there doing that, or here for the same reason. Maybe find some folks who know this area better than I do right now. Once I get a little more moved in I will take a drive up to the airport and talk to students/staff at the school.

 Oh my God..... I just drove 2,000 miles to OKLA-FRICKIN'-HOMA!!!!
