Make sure whatever set you buy is STC'd for 135/121 ops.

The new Bose are not STC'd,, I fly with the Telex 5oo's and they are very good.. Lightspeeds don't last, nothing but problems..

Dave clarks are good but the c clamp effect sucks.. However they do last..

Sennheiser are the BEST! If you are a ALPA member you get a nice discount and different payment options.

I have the Sennheiser HMEC 25-KA and have used it in the J41 and 328Jet with superb results. Highly recommended.

I think you mean TSO'd. Anyway, the Bose X is TSO'd per their user manual.

Sennheiser HMEC 25-KAS's rule! Comfortable, very light weight, excellent ANR, & no head clamp pressure. I highly recommend! at least for a turbo-prop.

Tried a bunch of different ANR's out, then went with the Lightspeed 20XL's. No problems so far & very comfortable. The XL's are available as closeouts recently because of the new 3G series, so there are some good prices available. That's what clenched it for me.

CFI Rebate

The sales guy swore the telex stratus 50-D is the best so I just ordered it. Sales guys never lie right?!? To whomever owns a set - is it better than the lightspeeds?

In any case, If you are a CFI and you zerox your medical and CFI certificate you can get a $125.00 rebate from Telex, thats really why I ordered them...

The web site at www.telex.com/aircraft says you have to be a nafi member and give a copy of your 8710. I called and they said you don't have to be a nafi member and you don't need an 8710 (that was kind of a stupid request)

I verified that info via e-mail and I'll send it with my rebate form.

Don't forget about dealership pricing. Not buying through a dealer, but actually becoming a dealer and selling headsets to students or others.

Sennheiser's HMAC 400 versus the Bose X, any opinions? I'm trying to save on the cost of a hearing aid in 20 years and the weight of my DC's (10-13.4) are murder after 4 hours aloft (I want a new head at 8 hours).
