What are the implications for OneList for the rank and file Skywest Pilot, the majority of who have been with the company < 3 yrs?

Is OneList a merger of the 2 lists? If so, how would senority be established?

Would the recent US Air / AWA list merge be like a Skywest/ASA list merge?

It's never easy

Merging lists is never easy, and there will always be vocal people who either think they got screwed, or actually did get screwed. But the leaders of the two pilot groups could go to a good pub, down a few pints, and come up with an equitable merger of the lists. It could be straight date of hire - but someone will get shafted. It could be relative seniority - top 10 per cent of each list are in the top 10 percent of the merged list, and so on - but someone will feel they got hosed in that scheme too. With appropriate fences so that nobody gets displaced from their current job, vacancies can be dealt with as they arise in the future. Not everyone will be happy, but I'll be less happy if I have to watch our airplanes go away to other carriers.

None of this matters if we can't force the issue on management; apparently our negotiating committee and MEC aren't interested in trying...yet.

ALPA national won't support this because ASA could be lost to ALPA if we were out-voted by the SkyWest pilots. But perhaps a bunch of militant ASA pilots could transform the SkyWest student council into a real collective bargaining agent instead of a group of management-hacks that ape every word they're told from company headquarters.

Since it won't happen anyway, it's all academic.

It's kind of funny you want one list with a non-union company. You could careless about SkyWest, you're just trying to save your own arse.

Bargain together or beg alone my friend. Your turn will be next!

Your concerns are valid. Maybe you or your better half should get a job at another company to reduce your personal exposure.

Maybe it's time that the people who are filling out those surveys, stand up and get counted.

Thanks, Captain RP. Maybe we all should.

Hey, I heard you used to be in the CIA, is that true?

Wrong guess and it is time for all of us to be looking for other career opportunities.

I was never in the CIA nor have I claimed to be, but I was in Cub Scouts, once.

No it is time for YOU to look for other career opportunities. Don't take innocent people down with YOU because YOU aren't happy....

Very predictable response, but way to go not taking the bait. I'm impressed.
