Apparently Stinson Air Center in San Antonio shut its doors Airline Training Academy style, leaving students and employees high and dry. They showed up for work/training only to find the offices empty and the doors padlocked.
I'm starting to wonder how many more disreputable schools there are. Caveat emptor.

jdog,

It wasn't Stinson Air Center, but another small FBO at Stinson. It was in the San Antone paper last friday. The guy went backrupt and couldn't keep the doors open.

reminds me of National shutting its doors, not telling anyone until the passengers showed up the next day at the ticket counters, wondering why there wasn't anyone to help them out!

I'm a little bit confused here...the reports I have seen on it, including the one from Avweb, say it is Stinson Air Center. In addition, their website is no longer online.

Sounds like good training for some future carriers. While the exec's line their pockets over seas with no taxation and the employee's stuck trying to keep the ship afloat until the inevitable. Employee's high and dry, exec's unemployed, with a 3mil bonus...
But with flights schools, man, it's a hard enough profession to get into without people putting you back $30 g's... I'm glad I stumbled upon the school I did most of my training. Now gotta kep an eye out for the "safest" 121 job out there.
