Turbo Jet First Officer Program - for those looking to gain real world, challenging experience. We are a growing charter and jet management company. SIC's will be paid $1000.00 per month plus expenses while on the road and will be considered for a permanent position upon completion. SIC's will be required to move to Las Vegas at their own expense. Applicants must have a Commercial, Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings and successfully complete a Jet Type Rating program at SimuFlite at their own expense. Applicants should expect to be on the road for extended periods of time

It's not even a job, there's no guarantee of getting hired at the end.

What do you think?

Sounds like a Suck-O position that they can't fill with qualified people so now they are trying to rope in low timers...

Yet another sleeze-ball operator.

this would still take a "well off" low timer to:
1) relocate
2) PFT for jet type
3) spend time on the road a lot

Sounds unrealistic for most anyone at this stage

Get Real

When the economy tanks, the scumbags come out of the wood work....hear we go again with this pay for training crap. You would be much better off working as a licensed professional plumber. $80-$146per hr. (Labor) and home every night. You can make a close to $100K easy. Not very glamorous though.....I think I would much rather Whore myself out and be somebodys B*tch for no money and be on call for some premadonna owner, just so I can say "Im a pilot".!!......BIG DEAL. Sorry Gents...just a little venting. We will all get through it. We all saw this same pattern back in 91'. The economy will bounce back....just dont whore yourself out in the mean and lean times....
just my .02 worth.

Falcon Capt brings up a good point... a majority of us on this board (including me) do not remember the bad times in the early 90's. I wasnt even in High School yet:eek:
I believe it will turn around, patience everyone:)

$146/hr to be a plumber?

I know they make some good money but they dont make $146/hr....

thats 250K+ a year. Drop the crackpipe.

I think he meant they might bill up to $146 per hour when on the job, they certainly don't make 40 hours a week at this rate. I bet a decent plumber makes $60-$80k per year.

Man, screw plumbing. I don't care how mucg tghey make. They aren't flying planes./

I did some flying today, and it was ghood.

I'm now intoxicated, and agiain, it is good. It is especaiily good that I'm not flying tomorrow. Too many margaritas.

That is all.

Thank you for your time.

F*ck./

Falcon capt, next time you'r in austin, I'm getting you some kick asss bbq from coopers. lots of it. but hopefully you're not coming into town right now , because I can;t fly the duch-assss right now.

hell, right now, I can't even SPELLLL> Duchessf

I spent a summer working for a plumber when I was 20. The work was hard, and the pay was low.

Fast forward 25 years.

When my service line coming in from the street developed a leak a few years ago, I had to hire a plumber who was his own boss. Since I could run an excavator, I rented the machine and dug up the line for him. He spent 45 minutes splicing out the leaking section, and another 20 minutes replacing a faucet cartridge valve inside the house.

That's an hour and five minutes. The bill? $350. Not including the one hour rental on the excavator.

I'd say that's better than $146 per hour.

Just a little perspective...

The scumbag company that is offering this exceptionally great opportunity for some dumbass is Vision Air out of North Las Vegas. I've said it before on a previous thread and I'll say it again here. Consider yourself warned! The con artists that own and run Vision will find a way to screw you out of your money and find a way to fire you. That is the only thing that they can guarantee you. This is the shadiest operation you could imagine.

More Intriguing News for this REAL life opportunity

Just in case anybody missed it... the fax # on this wonderful opportunity is the EXACT same # that was on a July 26 posting, courtesy of climbto350.com

That ad was for a GIII Capt. & Copilot - International operations. Base salary Capt. 3500 Monthly Copilot TBA. Must have GIII/Heavy Jet & International Experience. Must pay for own training. Fax resume to (702) 646-6871.

Remember it now? I guess they were not able to fill this "wonderful" opportunity either? Maybe, they will find out soon enough why!!!!!! Sounds to me that THEY are getting desparate. Can't get quality applicants, no body wants to fly for us, what's up with all those low-timers? Don't they realise this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Oh, I'm just getting carried away here. Seen all this crap back in the 90s. It did not work then & it will not work now. If you have the dough, go for it, but don't expect the lifestyle & of course, you WILL eventually be shafted. Don't say nobody told you.

Just my 2 cents & from someone who knows more than most.

If anyone is interested, since I live in KLAS, I could check 'em out, make a false application etc. and report back to this thread. If nothing else, it would @ least be entertaining!

Man, I'm still trying to forget about the early 90's. That was definitely a bad time for aviation, and it brings back some unpleasant memories regarding the job search. Good advice from Webslinger though.

Vision Air = Greedy Air

B757Driver is right.

But, Vision has a pizzpoor history during the good times too.

They were pulling prorated training contract bull**** in the mid and late nineties and paying 1K. The kicker is they make make some incredible profit margins and can afford to pay much higher.

This isn't some flight school with high costs and limited students paying a CFI 15 out of the 25/hr for dual.

We could easily be talking millions a year here in net revenue.

Be assured though that they are hurting in the post 9/11 enviroment.

They have/had/will screw a pilot during A 135 CHECK RIDE/OR AIRLINE EMPLOYMENT CHECK.

Wasn't me ... but these guys I know...

One was basically told to seek reemployment because their checkride was going to be "difficult to pass".

Another was bad mouthed by this company to Eagle and did not pass the background check. Which of course is ILLEGAL.

To get an interview at another company while working there you have to bribe the scheduler with free pizza to "not tell anyone" and get the day (singular) off.

Avoid Thunderstorms by at least 30 miles,

Get your time and get out.
