Ok I am not trying to start an argument or anything, but I am just curious about the current status of Netjet hiring. I am wondering if they are actually getting qualified people to apply seeing that people that meet their requirements could pick other fractionals? Also, do they even really need people at Netjets or are they currently staffed. Are they still taking new planes?

Thanks for the info, and good luck guys hope you get that new contract.

Greed

Need 500 pilots this year. Hired 150 or so. 60 have left

I asked because I am working on my Capstone Project at Embry Riddle (trying to fininsh my masters) and we were recently discussing labor unions and employee loyalty. Don't really know about any recent aviation stories except for Comair so I thought Netjets may be a good topic.

We are now hiring < 2000 hrs. You'll have to judge whether time alone qualifies, but the hype says +2500. ooops, there goes the neighborhood.

I know that everybody hates my questions but I have to try. When you guys get your new contract do you think that everybody is going to try and get on.Wouldn't it be better to get on now and hope a strike doesn't happen?

I can fill you in briefly on that Comair pilot group back in 01' that went on strike....Quite possibly the most determined and unified group of pilots that you will ever see in this ho industry..

I can fill you in briefly on the current MEC at Netjets....Perhaps the most organized, proactive, concise, and focused Union leadership you will see in this industry.

Hypothetically combine the 01' Comair pilot group with the Current Strong Union slate and you have an indestructable, well-oiled machine that would assure this is indeed a profession going forward, not just a hobby!!

One can dream... STFD

Whautchoo Talkin' bout Willis?

Last tour my partner had flown with a newbe with 2000 hrs. Said he was a great kid. I still believe you will see real fo/fo's (<1000hrs) soon.

I agree X402, have flown with several newhires in the last six months. All good folks, wide diverse backgrounds, but the one underlying fact is they all had low time.

Psysicx, I think that is the mentality with a lot of newhires. Get on now and hope for the best. What does a low timer have to lose? I can't tell you how many regional guys I've had come up to me and ask if we are still hiring or how the contract is coming.

It is getting harder to attract seasoned aviation professionals to this place. There is only one direction for the company to go.

Might just have to start delaying flights with adverse weather, conditions etc. for experience reasons. It's not smart to fly single pilot into some of the most challenging airports in the world with 2 pilot airplanes. NJA needs to hire experience to fly into tough places. Experience doesn't come cheap... and it's not easy to earn quickly.

How true! But with the abeyance and the way the company is self destructing with the permanent schedulers and a new management of self described incompetents we don't even need a "Strong" union to STMFD...

Majik, how did you pick such a good avatar so long ago?

Lord Asleepfield. But with the abeyance and the way the company is self destructing with the permanent schedulers and a new management of self described incompetents we don't even need a "Strong" union to STMFD”

You are so lost let me explain it for you in simple terms. The negotiations were put in abeyance because the Union was not bargaining in good faith. If the company was the issue they would have released for self help. The company is not self-destructing and in fact continues to grow and get stronger every day in spite of you and your union antics. The management is working smarter, and doing something that you couldn’t even begin to fathom in its complexity and functionality. What you do need is a “Smart” union who can figure out how to provide positive benefits for it’s members without damaging the company so they need less pilots to work fewer hours for less pay.

The company has said that they will not put the company into bankruptcy just so the pilots can have the pay that they have been promised by the MEC. It isn’t going to happen. And the MEC doesn’t want to have negotiations conclude before they get elected into office, because no politician likes to face the music of not delivering on their campaign promises. And they know they cannot deliver on 6S and never believed that they could, but they want those Union MEC jobs.

Someday you will wake up and smell the recess that is if you ever get out of abeyance. Or you could gather some collective intelligence and vote in a MEC that can get you a workable contract. Or you can listen to your MEC tell you how they don’t understand what the NMB says and how the company is wrong for terminating the MEC Chairman’s good friend for maximum fatigue in a cockpit. When are you guys going to wake up and smell the reality? Until then we will watch you make fools of yourselves.

I guess I still can’t understand why if you hate it so much you are still at NetJets.

Wow...another Johnny come lately spewing company propaganda. I had to reread it to be sure, but then I went and nabbed my handy dandy junk mail that came today and low and behold what did I find?

Moisture says, "more crew workdays mean fewer pilots hired and more pay"....you said "less" pay, but I think I get your drift. You guys need a new playbook. At least don't use the exact same terms your impotent master uses.

Get rid of the current MEC? Wow, that's a new one. This MECs hard work must be paying off up there in the Death Star if your asking us to throw them overboard already! Its only been six months! They have our complete support. Don't you worry.

The names change, but the message is the same with you trolls.

Hey Chip, how's it going? Better for you to conduct a mindless rant here and try to get it out of your system than to punch another hole in the wall.

I don't think that is Chip or Molly. It sounds more like DV or PH and the same crap they put out during the elections. Just look back at the stuff they were saying behind SU's back. Bitter feelings will just tear a person up. Get over it guys!

Sun Tzu is right. You need to get over it and look at the facts of your new MEC and what they are doing to you. They don't get it and won't get it. yes there are 7.3% of the pilots that support the MEC and what they are doing, but the rest are seeing their true colors. But if you like the status quo forever, then you have good leadership. If you like the company watching you closer because a few are creating situations that you think make a difference then go ahead. It can be a company of trust and goodwill but your Union leadership is ruining that. The more they promote actions the more rules will be put in place until the union wants to bargain in good faith.

Sounds good Troll. as soon as the company pays me the ave $130K yr that CE-750 Captains deserve.... Let the Trust and Goodwill times ROLL!

I got news for you. This is OUR company. Not Mr Bill's. We will be here long after Mr Bill is gone the way of John Ferris.

Firing pilots who were fatigued.

We have been warned by the union not to help the company by flying fatigued. Well now maybe people will listen. Thankyou Mr Bill.

OK Troll, I'll bite.

Why don't you give us the FACTS of what the MEC is doing? Lets hear it?

I will correct your math though...82% of our pilots supported this MEC and I'm willing to bet that number is even higher now. Where in the world are you getting 7.3%? In your dreams?

Please tell us what ACTIONS the union is supporting? Do you mean flying the contract that the company entered into? Or do you mean just holding this companys feet to the fire on the numerous contract violations they commit?
Over one thousand grievences to date this year. Nice job NJA.

The inept leadership at the top is the one to blame for bad faith bargaining. When RTS cleans house of Moisture and his minions, then progress will be made.
