Condolences

Sorry for your loss. Randy sounds like he was one fine gentleman. Best thing we can all do is fly safe. Sometimes easier said than done, but we owe it to all to make the effort.
 
I am truly sorry for your loss.

It is sometimes hard to understand why people make the decisions they do. I have a friend who landed when it was 100 ft, and 1/8 mile, and don't understand why you would even start down under those circumstances.
I once did an approach suckered by asos, blew it off, and went some place else, waited for it to improve. My wife was upset we weren't going to land, and I responded that we COULD have landed there, but she wouldn't enjoy the funeral. She has never questioned me since.
