I agree... If someone enters the cockpit without an invitation and are threatening to the flight crew, and there's an FFDO on board, they most likely will be shot and killed.

End of story. One dead idiot, hijacker or not, and one vindicated FFDO.

If someone broke into the flightdeck and got themselves shot, they will have deserved it, and the person who shot them would get a "job well done" from 90% of the population, and the other 10% . . . . well, they're busy "occupying" right now.

PS., I'm not an FFDO, but I'm sure they are indemnified in the event they use their training and Gov't issued weapon to do what they have been trained to do. Perhaps someone else can verify this.

Don't get a big head. You're locked in at that point. Safe. Its the back of the plane that's dealing with the issue.

Would you prefer a pilot open the door and assist in the cabin? You might want to check your company's SOP and various other regulations.

How soon we forget, SW pax killed one before 9/11...Remember the 21 year old jacked up on some drug trying to get in on SW and the "Walmart" crowd took his A$$ out... They even made a CSI episode about it, they were trying to determine whose fault it was, I think the 300 pounder on the chest should've won!

Sooner or later history WILL repeat itself, It's going to be up to the pax, Which History it is!
