United will furlough another 66 pilots on April 1, 2003.

This will bring the total number of pilots furloughed by United to 1,372.

Bummer, eh?

That will put about 420 pilots to get recalled in front of me. So, even when/if they recall it will be probably a year or more after that until I get the nod to come back.

I am sorry for all the furloughed pilots out there whose lives have been disrupted by the current state of the industry. I hope we can all get back to flying very soon.

I'm not even close to my first furlough yet, but for your sake and everyone else's, you have my sympathy. I hope the call comes, and I hope it comes soon.

You are thinking about this all wrong. Time to change your pair-a-dig-em. There are about 8000 more UAL pilots soon to be out of work. There ain't going to be no integration into other airlines, or even tacking on the bottom of a list. We're just going to be gone. You have a head start on us finding new work! What do I base these views on? Too much change. The employees at UAL won't be able to change enough to fix what's wrong, even though it is so obvious and is right there for the doing. Treat this as an oportunity to find something better!

"What? No cheese? NO CHEESE!! WHO MOVED MY CHEESE?!"

You've got to read that book if you haven't or better yet get the audiotape.

Just curious about the hire dates of the people being furloughed again in April. 1300 people on the street has to cut pretty deep into seniority dates. Too bad, but they WILL survive.

Fall '99 classes eh? Man that's too bad. Some day we'll all look back on this and, well, drink heavily (some more). Until then all we can do is, well, drink heavily and make the best of it.

Hey Dispatchguy - Always nice to meet a fellow RUSH fan!!!!!!!
