How do the ANG and AFRES work the base housing stuff. I know most ANG bases don't have base housing so do the pilots get housing pay even though they're part time? Same with the reserves? Since most Reserve units are on AF bases do they qualify for living in base housing? Also, The differences between the guard/reserves overall besides state/federal..... My understanding is that they are basically the same except the res have longer OTS, different pay/retirement stuff, their proficiency requirements are slightly different, and they are more strict. Is that basic overview correct or is it really more to it? I've done a search but just want to make sure I'm not getting it wrong!

Thanks!
Brian

Housing allowance for full timers. It helps, but won't cover all your housing costs. Unless you live out in East Bum....

Correct, Reserve cadets go to full-up OTS.

Where did you hear this? Pay and retirement should be exactly the same.
