It's interesting that there is no mention of a blood alcohol test being given to the pilot. Was he arrested and then suspended by Virgin just because some TSA agent "suspected" the pilot had been drinking?

I hope these allegations are not true.

The industry and our profession has been under attack enough in the past couple of years without these sorts of embarrassing and potentially dangerous incidents.

BBC said late last night only that he was removed because the agents "smelled alcohol" and that the flight was cancelled, "stranding 400 passengers". There was no other info given at the time -- that was the first announcement.

He was interrogated at the airport, arrested and charged under Virginia law with operating an aircraft while under the influence of an intoxicating drug or alcohol and jailed at the Loudoun County Detention Center

I know there are some pilots out there, that believe other pilots are incapable of wrong doing. But come on. Do you think in this day and age, that the County of Loudoun just up and charged this pilot with violating Virginia state law and DIDN'T take a blood or breath sample? If they charged him, his ass either blew into a breathalyzer or he gave them a blood sample.

Just cause it aint in the article, don't mean it didn't happen.
