THE TICKER MIDWEST BRIEFS
Northwest Air chief sells stock

Tribune staff, wire reports
Published June 11, 2005

Northwest Airlines Corp. Chairman Gary Wilson in the past month sold 2.47 million shares of his company's stock, or 59 percent of his holdings, according to regulatory filings. The sales started May 13, with most in the past week, at prices ranging from $5 to $6.64 a share, according to filings by Wilson with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Northwest spokesman Bill Mellon said Wilson was selling the stock as a "personal decision" and wasn't available to comment. Wilson has been chairman of Eagan, Minn.-based Northwest, the nation's fourth-largest airline, since 1997 and was co-chairman for six years before that.
