Its in the ALPA website-
58.2 of those eligible voted (pretty pathetic if you ask me!)
96.3 in favor, (85 no votes)

that is pathetic...but it's over now...let's hope the union and the company can finish this contract SOON!!!!

Mixed message...

96.3 % of us that care are united behind the negotiating committee and the MEC, but...
41.8% of us are to apathetic to send a simple message to management.
Everyone talks about sending messages to management (no draft, advanced volunteer, vacation buy backs) but here was a very easy one, that was a clear benefit for the crew force and didn't cost us a penny, and we couldn't even get 60% of the force to "send" the message that we are united. That's a little worrisome.

welcome to fdx....your words..EVERYONE TALKS...is right on the money..lets hope a vote on a TA is a lot better

58.2%???????

Are you effing kidding me? The management guys are slapping 5's all over right now.

If anyone reads these message boards and didn't vote, I'd like to hear what was so important that you couldn't spend the 3 minutes it took to go vote. And if you are out there reading this "DOOM on you. DOOOOOOOOM"

Now, where's my 2% raise.

That is a pretty pathetic turnout for a vote. The only guy I know who didn't vote said it was because he had no plans to go to ANC and figured it would pass anyway. Pretty lame and I told him so. I hope that the chance to vote on a contract means a little more to him and the other 41.8% who abstained.

I personally am glad to see that it was approved, but I think we sent management the wrong message with that turnout.

The apathy on this vote, especially after the numerous pleas from our MEC to VOTE, sends more of a message to management than any "noble" refusal of DRF, VLT, or vacation sellback. I personally feel that the only ones that notice a few pilots refusing extra flying would be the daily crew schedulers. Nobody higher up than that. HOWEVER, I am sure that the weak results on this vote are, at least, a bullet point in the morning meetings.......it won't go unnoticed. We gotta keep our eye on the ball. Our job as line pilots is really, really simple. Do your job, enjoy your life outside of FedEx, and when the union asks you to do something for the collective group, then do it with enthusiasm. Whether it's a vote for an LOA, or it's walking in circles with a sign, it's part of our duty.

I am pretty disappointed in the turn out myself but I can't say that I am all that surprised.

There are only about 250 pilots (out of 4600) based in ANC so this LOA didn't really pertain to the masses. 2,305 votes casted probably by mostly FO's, I just don't see a bunch of old crusty MEM captains getting too worked up about this. Just MHO, sad but true.

If management thinks that we are just a bunch of lame ducks (judging by the turn out for the LOA) they are in for a BIG SURPRISE. I am confident in my MEC and my fellow crewmwmbers that we are ready for a fight...no, a war! If need be but hopefully it won't come to that.

With 2305 votes representing 58.18 percent, the eligible population was 3961.8 voters. Apprentice members are not eligible to vote. I too am disappointed by the poor voter turnout. The MEC worked hard to get this for us and we put forth a lackluster show of support for their efforts. We can and must do better than this!

Want to send a message and have a new contract in the next couple of months? Fly your scheduled line to the best of your ability, but no draft, don't volunteer for anything, don't sell back any vacation. Any message this vote turnout showed is insignificant compared to the message a large number of pilots are sending each month by acting like they don't even know negotiations are taking place.

Dude, you are pi$$ing in the wind if you think that's going to happen. The union came out and said that a strong turn out for this LOA vote was needed and look what happened.

It's the small things, like this vote, that matter. Saying "Well wait until there's an important vote, then we'll show them" isn't going to cut it. The 100% in June is a great idea, and I'm on board, but the 5 or 10 of us that do stay home will just be made up for by the 50 guys that live here in town that are constantly on VLT.
