Anyone can see that there are many views of what's "fair and equitable" on this forum. I'm curious what the views would be if the situation were reversed.

To AAI guys:
If AAI were to acquire SWA somehow (it could happen), what would be the fair way to integrate our pilots into your group?

Thanks in advance for entertaining a hypothetical!

Staple would thrill most trannie pilots I've heard.

Are you an idiot savant, you keep saying same thing over and over without comprehending the question. The post was if AirTran was the acquiring carrier, what would the AirTran pilots advocate? The answer to this ridiculous question would be the same as the current situation. Both unions try and work it out, if they can't reach a mutually acceptable decision, it goes to arbitration.

I was jumpseating on AirTran this week and both pilots said that they were genuinely concerned that the deal would either fall through or that Southwest would not combine the pilot groups. Both knew they were hitting the lottery and would accept whatever SWA offered (even a staple), so I think it is mainly FI blowhards that are just being greedy.

Actually, the most analogous hypothetical would be an AirTran acquisition of Virgin America. Though others have already offered-up this scenario, no AirTran pilots seem willing to discuss it. :D

Airtran tried to acquire a smaller airline a couple of years ago. It didn't work out. I think 1 to 4 was in the works for pilot integration. We shared the same training facility. I don't remember anyone talking seriously about stapling the Midwest pilots if we had been succesful with that purchase. So yeah... a couple of years ago we were in the same boat. I'm sure there are a million posts on here about the subject.

Whatever! They told you they would take a staple job? While you were on their jumpseat? BS. And an arbitrator will decide this, after reviewing the facts. You SWA guys seem very scared of the outcome. It's obvious from your posts.

yes they did. Even the captain said he would do whatever it takes to get over to Southwest Airlines, including a staple. They mentioned that AirTran was not a good or stable company and they didn't want to work under the new contract because it is so crappy. Both seemed like great guys and they said they never heard of flightinfo. I told them about some of the posts on here from the trannies, and they just rolled their eyes.
