An article in the Arizona Republic this week announced that America West has recently joined the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. Sounds like they're thinking about giving US Air the squeeze. Combined with Southwest squeezing in Philly, could this spell the end for Airways? Thank got for not flying for Mesa, PSA, Piedmont/Allegheny!

I think that at least the Mesa folk would be excited about this, as AWA is their second biggest partner to Airways. Can't speculate on PSA, or Piedmont.

I'm sure that would depend on whether America West would pick up any lost Airways flying that Mesa currently has. I think it's doubtful that America West would start off with such a huge operation right off the bat. They seem a bit more conservative now than in the past.
