AMR Eagle Holding Corporation Company Profile
AMR Eagle Holding owns two regional airlines -- American Eagle Airlines and Executive Airlines -- that do business as American Eagle. The carriers provide connecting flights from high-traffic cities served by American Airlines to smaller markets in the US, Canada, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean, serving 130 cities in all. AMR Eagle Holding is a subsidiary of AMR, which is also the parent of American Airlines. The company has announced plans to sell Executive Airlines, which flies out of Miami and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Executive Airlines, which will maintain its same management, will continue to operate connecting flights for AMR but under its own code.

Since the mid 1990s....

AMR has been saying that for years.

I flew out of SJU for Executive from 1994-1996 and they were talking about it then!

That might be a old link on the yahoo web site. They were going to sell EX right after 9-11 when the scope limit was reached. AMR is a control freak, I dont think Eagle will ever be sold.
