(Cue "Under Pressure" by Bowie/Mercury)

AMR management is under the microscope by the media and the courts for the first time and it's not pretty. We're at least 400 pilots short for the summer (not accounting for the flood of departures, retiree or disgruntled, if they get their 1113 and USAir is defeated). They have known this for six months or more.

The geniuses they hired to run the bankruptcy were counting on the productivity improvments to kick in immediately upon the 1113 approval. Yeah, right.

Good times a commin'.

Saw in the news the other day that BK expenses are already near $60 Million....

$60,000,000 means AMR has been spending approximately $330,000 PER DAY since the BK filing. Totally worth it.

Hey, Grog, gotta retain the best lawyers. You can't just leave it to management to figure out how to 1113 a contract and force FAR workrules on the employees.

Plus, these firms are looking at $200 Million in revenues for a major airline bankruptcy. If USAir plucks us out early, they stand to lose a ton of money. Can't let THAT happen...
