How is the AMF B1900 operation out of TJSJ? Is it a 5 day work week? Overnights or Out&Backs? On Climbto350 it says 1st yr pay around $43k. Is that pretty accurate?

Five day weeks. Out and backs. Pay is close. Look on Airline Pilot Central for the exact pay. Then add 5% for a turbine bonus. This pays at the one year mark from PIC check ride. Should take two-five months for training.

Five months for training?

Up to 5 months sounds awefully long. (??) Is there pay while ur training? Does AMF have jumpseat arrangements to get back to the states easily? Thanks.

Pay doesn't start until you pass your 135 checkride, although your hotel is covered. If you go right into the 1900/Metro, expect one week for indoc, then 3-5 for systems/sim/checkride. After your checkride you'll do IOE, probably in Seattle where they do the 1900/Metro training. Not sure if they have any IOE Captains in SJU, if they do you might just go straight there for IOE. Only official j/s is Southwest, so not easy to get back. Also, there is a 1 year domicile contract for San Juan, and after that you'll probably only be able to transfer out when they get someone to replace you, so you may be there awhile. I hear the flying and scenery are quite spectacular. A little too far from home for my taste though.

Thanks Flyalot & SDCFI. Training time of 4 - 6 weeks sounds a lot more reasonable, especially if you gotta go w/out pay the whole time. Is SWA really the only jumpseat hopes? Does SWA even fly into TJSJ? I would think that there has to be other operators out of there that would work with AMF on a reciprocal agreement of some sort. Maybe / maybe not. Does anyone know how many crews are based out of San Juan &/or how many they are trying to hire?? Thanks.

Pay is based on the run. Each run is assigned a unit amount. Each unit is worth the hourly pay you see. You will be paid a minimum 40 units per week. If you are asked to do some extra flying that will be at 1 unit per duty hour or 1.5 units per flight hour, your choice. There are more factors, but that is the basic principle.
