I can't speak for SLC, but Ameriflight has been hiring for every aircraft type at nearly every base.

With the regionals using 250 hours and a rectal thermometer as part of the hiring process, the upward pressures on the industry are there. Let hope this pressure affect the pay scale soon.

SLC is based on about 50-50 of new hires and people from other bases that came here for the fast upgrades. We have 3 people just upgrade to the Metro that should be finishing up their training and online soon. We have had 3 others just join us in the 99 this week alone. I think we are pretty well staffed this week, but things will be probably be different in a month or so. We definetly have the best AMF management here and when fully staffed we have a pretty good schedule. SLC is also a much more reasonable place to live on a freight dog pay.

Hey Guy!! Ken Here, why would you want to leave OAK? Havent I told you enough stories about the time I had to rub whale blubber on the wheels of my DC6 in Alaska so it wouldnt freeze to the ground? Or maybe about how we used to get that pesky engine started by windmilling it on the takeoff roll?If you were a real pilot you request to do 213 in a lance in January! Remember Super ATPs block out on time no matter what!

Hey Freighthumper.....where was your avtar picture taken? A polar bear next to an AMF Metro? Quite interesting! :)

I just moved to SLC last week and start the AMF groundschool on Aug 20th. I was told that after basic, I would get up to SLC for my 99 training. Cant wait :)

ESF!! You still in SLC? I'm still kickin around for a little bit longer. I'm looking to upgrade in the next couple of months once I meet the requirements. I'll be heading to Chicago though.
