I have a very nice suit, like one you would wear to a wedding. Would that be over the top? I would buy a sports coat if the suit is too much. I am still trying to figure out where to find the time to get my hair cut.
then you might want to do a little more research on AMF. this is not a sneakers and jeans company. if hired you'll be wearing a full uniform everyday to work, and be expected to look fairly squared away in it. granted we fly freight, and some (very little) leeway is given you shouldn't plan on wearing cutoff's and a wife beater.
lastly, as a piece of advice, i'd treat every interview the same whether it's for a CFI position, a freight dog slot, or SWA f.o position. come in prepared and dress and act professionally. if nothing else the interview is a great learning experience for the future, and lowering your expectations and self presentation based on the position sought is both a disservice to yourself and an insult to prospective employers.
Thanks all for the help. A little feedback on the interview for you.
I only had a week to prepare. I really wish I had 2 weeks so I could have procrastinated more. Its amazing how much I could cram into my head in 3 days.
I interviewed well, he also liked the suit, he didn't know Carhart made 3 peice suits out of duck cloth. The sim went well up to a point. I got vectored to an alternate, got behind the aircraft, descended below the MDA, went missed then came back around and shot a beautifull Localizer approach. I was cleared for the NDB.
During a postflight breifing and before he had a chance to deny me, I asked to come back in a week or so and show him a better performance, he agreed. I have a sim ride scheduled later today. By the way he has been following this thread, I am glad I haven't said anything too stupid.
