I had sent an application to AMF in Dallas a few months back and had not heard from them and was getting ready to apply to another location.

They called yesterday and I have an interview next week. Any pointers are appreciated.

What is the web site with the interview gouges?

Anyone here fly for them in Dallas?

Thanks in advance.

youll do it with the dfw acp who is a good guy. like all amf interviews know your jepps, weather, and current ac. as for the sim, unless they tell you, youll have know clue what the profile or sim is. are you going to the chieftan or emb120 fo? good luck!

I am going for a PA31 slot. I will be flying an Elite simulator at Skymates in Arlington.

I know how to read a jepp plate. What else about jepps should I know? Enroute charts? Current ac means current aircraft? How about previous aircraft? I just got my MEI in a Duchess, but had flown senecas, and apaches years ago. Should I know them?

I fly in Dallas, and interviewed with the acp long long ago in a base hangar not too far away. Anyway, being very familiar with the whole inroduction to the Jepps would be helpful, as well as knowing part 61/91 very well. Be very solid on you IFR rules and procedures, READ THE SMALL PRINT ON ANY PLATE GIVEN YOU, know the multi aircraft you have the most time in backwards and forwards. Think over what you are expecting from AMF, what you can bring to the table so to speak, and why do you want to fly here. Other than that, be yourselft, relax, and have fun. The DFW ACP is a good guy (brownie points hint hint TV) and the interview is pretty straight forward. I don't know how the sim goes at skymates, but the one I had was basic no emergency IFR flying with navigation on vor radials, ILS to a missed approach, and an NDB hold using a bearing, and a VOR cross radial. Pick up the checklist in the sim!!!. Try aviationinterviews.com for good gouges. Hope that helps.

Dirty

Whats up dirtybeech! Hows vernon? I miss the econolodge;)

Refugepilot: Just know your current ac and be ready for anything off of an approach plate or enroute chart or anything from the far/aim. youll like the chieftan runs out of dfw. They are the cupcakes of the AMF system.

i have not had the pleasure of staying in that fine establishment in some time. actually, for about the last month i've been covering a run to corpus christi. there are many worse places to be than here, and it's an especially good time to be down if you are a bachelor. whatupwitchu?

for being so dirty ofcourse.

What to wear

Should I wear a tie to the interview, or just slacks and a dress shirt?

wear a shirt and tie at least, and it wouldn't hurt to grab a sport coat if you've got one.
